This is really annoying. I enjoy the profile system, since my wife likes to keep movies longer than I do. Its very easy to keep us both with a few movies we want without having to constantly log in to double check whats coming, especially considering how many BD titles are "long wait"
AppleTV missed the boat. When it was annouced I was pretty excited, but gradually that excitement waned. First came the news that it would only do 720p. Then there was its total lack of codec support (no divx streaming etc), and finally its horrible bitrate restricts for the content you *could* play (you couldn't even watch some of the trailers from the itunes store. How stupid is that?)

In short, while I was waiting for AppleTV Take2 (which solves a few of these) my PS3 and 360 got updated to do everything I wanted and more (except MKV support grrrr), so I have no need for the Apple TV. They missed the window of opportunity.
Way too little. FAR too late.
I would like a 360 please.
Wow. Someone is in total denial.

"But, but cheaper players *have* to sell better...right?"

No. No they don't. Because all things are not equal (content), so competing on price means didly-squat.
I was holding off until SED came out as well, but then I realized that it was vaporware and by the time it did come out (if ever), I could have been enjoying a great HDTV for many years. So, I took the plunge and haven't regretted it for a second.
Texas. I know it's boring, but I'm going there anyways so why not for free! :D
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
