Every minute, a new child enters Best Buy unaware of the harms of Monster Cables. It is each and everyone's parental duties to warn the children of these cables and the financial impact it has on their future.
@bob e

Seriously, who approved the serif font? What's this site trying to be? The New York Times for gadget geeks edition? Bring back my sans-serif!
The PS3 web browser sucks. I like how FW 3.10 said they made some improvements to the browser to better support Facebook. LOL It still sucks to surf FB!

For those wondering why you would use the PS3 to surf the net? Easy, sometimes, the computer isn't on and you just wanna look something up quickly. To have Firefox come to PS3 would be a godsend. I wouldn't get so pissed off at the browser that I'd rather boot up my computer.
vs being dependent on a proprietary format from Adobe? Only reason YouTube went with Flash was because pretty much everyone and their mothers have that plug-in. Silverlight barely existed at the time.
Oh, and the plastic sackboys is the worst wallpaper ever. You know you're on Windows because OS X would never contain that wallpaper.
lol I dunno, as soon as I see START BUTTON with a Windows logo on it, I never really had to make sure if I was using OS X or Windows or not. I guess if they moved the icons to the right side of the screen by default, I may have to second guess myself for a moment, but as far as I know....WINDOWS 7 IS ABOUT AS WINDOWS AS WINDOWS EVER WAS!
I was in Alaska last year, and the only service I got was from my Verizon work phone. Somehow, it works!!! Of course, yeah, there are tons of parts of Alaska where there's no point of installing a cell tower because the only people using it would be bears.
Did you guys know that the reason your Bose systems sound like crap is because...YOU DO NOT HAVE MOOOOOOOOOOOONSTERRRRRRRR CABLES? It's true! The Best Buy guy told me so! Bose sounds best with Monster Cables. It's a well kept secret to keep Bose and Monster from totally dominating the planet.
"Built-in battery; they say it gets about 7 hours, uh, but it probably gets about three..."

Truer words couldn't be said. LOL I hate how they always over-estimate the battery life of these notebooks. They're NEVER the advertised lifespan! No one freakin' runs them on the dimmest brightness, no wifi/bluetooth, and surf only static web pages that won't suck up CPU like a flash video would for 7 hours!
Doesn't matter what the iPhone can't do. It's always about what the iPhone CAN do and can do WELL. There have been a lot of contenders for the title of iPhone killer, but each time, the contenders failed because they all offered mediocre features over what the iPhone can do. For the features that they shared with the iPhone, the iPhone easily stole the thunder because they did it in a way where "it just works".

I'm a Palm Pre owner, and I will never own an iPhone, but when I first got my Pre, there were moments of jealousy still when iPhone users would show me things that they could do so easily and intuitively that my stupid Pre couldn't. Obviously, Web OS 1.2 changed most of this. Still, the Pre still needs video recording and the ability to do global copy/paste a la Windows Mobile. Oh yeah, that whole GPU thing...it'd be nice if the Pre actually used one. The iPhone is SMOOTH AS BUTTER compared to the Pre since it actually uses the GPU.

Anyway, if VZW and Moto actually polish the user experience for the basics AND the features that are missing from iPhone, they've got a winner on their hands. Competitive plan pricing would also help...my Sprint plan feels like a bargain vs VZW. Then again...I'm also roaming on their network whenever I leave the big city.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
