I recently hacked my Palm Pre to data tether so I could play WoW while there was a cable outage in my area. It worked alright. I couldn't play my healer thats for sure. But DPS wasn't a problem.
Optical out is part of the cable on the Component cables. When the Elite was bundled with HDMI, it came with separate cable that plugged in where your normal video cables would. That cable only contained an optical port. So you can still use optical if you are using a non HDMI cable.
Only the collectors edition had the film on the disc. But yes you are correct it was the first of it's kind.

The reservation policy is something the entire gaming industry follows. Gamestop and other retailers that do preorders such as Amazon pass that information on to that publishers as well. It's used as a gauge of interest to judge for production runs of product. Now I'm not going to defend being nagged about preording crap. I to think it's annoying to be asked. Preorders are an integral part of the industry as a whole though.
Welcome to the world of big corporations. It's called making money. It's what makes the world turn. People hate on Gamestop and shop at Best Buy or Walmart? Best Buy tries to sell you 100 different things you don't need when shopping for non gaming related things. (Don't get me started on their Geek Squad) Walmart bullies other smaller competition out of the market by using their buying power to undercut pretty much everyone. You can't win. So why waste your breath hating on one company when really they are all trying to do the exact same thing. They just want to separate you from the money in your wallet.
I think you are all missing the point of what the article is saying. The argument is about learning to play certain specs. Tanking as fury to do a 5man here or there, and learning to be a full blown Port warrior tank at level 80 are two different things. Especially to a new player. What Blizzard is saying is they don't want to overwhelm or confuse new players. But really IMO, not allowing someone to learn the facets of their class until 80 is far more overwhelming.

I believe of course they will be more useful for level 80s raiding. Leveling up my warrior through Northrend as fury after tanking end game in TBC though, I like to be able to do 5 mans properly as a prot spec. So I would be Blizzard to implement it at for people sooner than 80. Maybe at 55 since that is where DKs start at.

Just my 2 cents.
Thats so BA... Awesome piece of art.
One of my personal favorites in Burning Crusade... I had a few friends I knew their account info... so I logged into them... put all their gear and mounts in the bank... then friends 'lock summoned them onto a floating island in the middle of Nagrand.

I love the goggles.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
