Melissa, the examples you chose do not help your case. Vaccines have saved more lives than all other medical discoveries combined. And they do it while being extremely cost effective, and with an extremely low rate of side effects. If trudeau's methods were 1/100th as effective we'd give him a nobel prize.

And America's food supply is the safest in the world. Its easy to blame the FDA every time there's a case of food poisoning, it is impossible to make food 100% safe after all. But how many people do you know personally who have died due to food poisoning. Probably none. That's a lot better than most people in the world can say.

I know its fun to believe we're not responsible for our problems, that there are government organizations who are secretly ruining our lives, but its simply not true. Those organizations are made up of thousands of relatively intelligent people, who have chosen a low paying job in their field, and are doing the best they can to be good people, like you or me.
It requires eating 500 calories per day! Of course you'll lose weight! Go to google scholar and type in HCG. You'll find study after study that shows that people who take HCG and go on a 500 calorie diet don't lose any more weight than those who simply eat a 500 calorie diet. And they don't report less hunger, and they lose fat from the exact same areas. HCG is a fraud.

And like all very low calorie diets, your probability of gaining it back is huge. I have two relatives who just finished their hcg diets, and they have not been able to eat a normal diet again without ballooning back up. They have to keep going back on the diet.
The problem is not that he's saying false things in his books (which he is), freedom of speech does allow anyone to say whatever they want. But advertisements are a special kind of speech. False advertising is destructive to the economy. Anyone whose taken econ 101 will tell you that capitalism only works when the consumers have access to accurate information about the products they're purchasing. Kevin's problem is that he consistently misrepresents the content of his books and the efficacy of his products. That is and should be illegal, and undermines our economy and society.
Kimberly, don't you see how he's tricking you? You say " It must be something right he's saying or they wouldn't be after him. " So, all I have to do is do something illegal, then claim I'm a victim when they come after me, and that gives me more credibility? This whole idea that persecution = credibility is behind a lot of brainwashing in this country. Yes its sometimes true that people are angry when someone tells the truth, but its much more common that people are angry at someone because what they're saying is destructive and dishonest. Such is the case with Trudeau, I can promise you that.
Wow, so much ignorance in these comments. To the gentleman who said, "what is the salary of the president of the american cancer association? The answer is in there." This is actually one of Kevin Trudeau's most easily discreditable lies. The president of the association is unpaid, as are the presidents of nearly all medical associations (AMA included). I know this because of my membership in both and because the financial records of both organizations are public. Nor are they sent on private jets to lavish resorts as Kevin claims. His books are pure boldfaced lies.

I can't believe so many people here are saying things like, "everything he says is backed up by studies!" Hello!! He doesn't cite any of the studies! There's no bibliography at all in his books! The fact that he tells you there are studies backing his facts up doesn't make it true. The studies are in fact fake. Many of the researchers he mentions in his books are not real and many of those that are, are on record stated that Trudeau has misrepresented their research.

Conspiracies are like a drug for ignorant people. Everyone wants to believe that the FTC and the FDA are out to get them. That their problems are not their own fault but the fault of some large organization who's secretly ruining their lives. Sorry, your problems are your fault, the FDA is full of scientists who are taking low-paying jobs despite their high repute and are doing the best they can, and Kevin Trudeau is one of the worst men in America.
Give all the money to me and I'll dole it out appropriately. I promise.
What's up with you and the word "Bevy" today?
I've been really wanting one of these! My solution is: everybody calm down!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
