I'm not even sure why I am lowering myself to this level but:

2. Trying showing the phone next time so the rest of the world knows WTF a 'droid' is – perhaps you didn't have the balls because George Lucas owns the Droid trademark. Announcing a product and you don't own the trademark? Take epic fail, and then drop to the next level of failure. There you are!

Motorola already licensed the trademark from Lucasfilm if you look at the bottom of the ad or on the website you will see:

*DROID is a registered trademark of Lucasfilm Ltd. and its related companies. Used under license.*

I don't want to disturb your rant, but you should at least exercise some literacy. If not for me, do it for the kids.
I think that is exactly the point, the screen doesn't move, or at least doesn't move enough to be perceivable by the user.

The Piezo sensors likely add an additional input method. Currently touch screen phones only handle touch, that is they register when you touch the screen but can't determine how hard you actually press. The addition of the piezo sensors allows the user to both touch and press, a press being defined as a touch with more force applied. This would make typing easier as often time the user slides across an inadvertent key while typing.

I think the Wii balance board example mentioned above is perfect. The Wii balance board can recognize a wide range of pressure on the board and it doesn't actually depress when you stand on it.

Now imagine in addition to having the pressure input on the balance board imagine being able to lightly touch or slide your finger across the board as another input.

I think this is very promising. It seems to keep the benefit of more tactile typing while resolving the poor implementation of it on the storm.

I agree with the numerous comments above that I have no intention of clamping that bulbous adapter onto my Blackberry. The loss of the USB port is also no bueno.

But if they could build this into a case I might be interested. The technology seems simpler than inductive technology and probably easier and cheaper to implement.

I guess I wonder how it would react to coins or paper clips falling on the grid, would that short it out?
haha, nice sample video. But I agree it does a decent job in low light.
Your comment sounds nice, but you are missing some facts.

TiVo actually started this suit sometime around the time you were enjoying your first DVR. Unfortunately due to the extreme backlog at the US Patent Office and the long legal process this case has dragged on for years.
Don't forget the voice dialing. I have seen that same dumb commercial ever other minute.

Great you have voice dialing, a little late to the party, but thanks for showing up.
Sounds like many of us with Electric toothbrushes will die of cancer then.
Dish didn't do this because TiVo wouldn't sell for its market cap.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
