Creative offers up USB-enabled Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 {Engadget}

May 13th 2008 3:50AM I was wondering who was going to bring that up (assuming of course you're talking about their [lack of] customer service and the whole Daniel K fiasco).

Personally, this would only be useful for lappies or people to afraid of opening their PCs, no?

I'll never know first hand, though... I've boycotted Creative products

Apr 1st 2008 10:56AM "And before you ask -- Crysis: Yes. Doom: Yes. Overlords: Welcome. Will blend: Yes. Russia: Benchmarks you."

Dang it, Engadget, I wanted to low rank all the fools that asked those questions, it IS their day after all...

(...Theorically, I should low rank myself, too, I've done it a couple of times too. Kettle, pot, black...)

Mar 31st 2008 6:41PM I just hope the kid is being paid something for this, otherwise talk about exploitation and child labour, etc.

Kudos to the lil' kid, though... I'm double his age and I can't admin and maintain a network that large on my own.

Mar 13th 2008 11:44AM I can best you one on that, I still have a S1XP! Plus it works(ish), well it runs Win Xp, slideshow style (i.e. slow). I love it to bits :)

The entire series (inc SZ) is usually the best performance vs portability ratio... Shame about the prices here in the UK (if you change the $ for a £, it's close to the price here, so that's double!)

Having said that, I see this baby runs Crysis in slideshow mode too, guess you'll need a desktop replacement lappie to run that beast reasonably, huh?

Mar 10th 2008 5:11AM I like how they make the adapter make it look like a key!

This would prove useful for anyone who forgot to charge their X gadget /device during the night, such as, errr.... me *ahem*

Feb 20th 2008 9:01AM Just re-read that description, and you're right... It's a G92 chip 8800GTS, and not the crappy, dated and sub-par G80 8800GTS...
