The top cap is made out of thin and brittle plastic and you'll be lucky to make it a week before it snaps into three pieces (Google it, it always seems to snap into three pieces...)

The bulk is definitely noticeable and it probably would be easier to just get a unit that plugs into the bottom when needed than to deal with trying to take this thing apart without breaking it.
How is the buffalo smaller?

According the the specs of the mvix from their site and the buffalo from the newegg site, the buffalo is a bit thinner but more than a full cm longer and a bit wider.

MVIX: 2.7g 30mm x 14mm x 7mm
BUFF: 3.97g 40.64mm x 15.24mm x 5.08mm

Who would want to see a horse naked?

Hello character limit, nice to meet you...
Why this wasn't their plan from day one is what has always confused me. When I win this, please pretend I won the other giveaway and send me a bunch of gadgets instead of the video games. If that is not possible, and you must send me a whole box of video games, I will find a way to deal and perhaps even play one or two of them.

I remember when Ryan reviewed that gadget that was really terrible and said it was pretty bad. That was awesome.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm heading to university next year, and I've purchased a MacBook. I'm also taking my four year old desktop, just in case I'm left with no computers when the MacBook is being repaired or whatnot. With only two USB ports on a MacBook, I want a Bluetooth mouse. Budget is about $100, and of course, it needs OS X support. Thanks for the help!"
