Anyone have the YSP-4000? I've been dying to get one for a year now. Would love to know if it really works.
All I care about is if Milla Jovovich is going to be in it.

She looks so hot in her new movie A Perfect Getaway!

I have a 52" setup with my Mac Mini, and I love it. Everything works great, except for Hulu Desktop. For some reason Hulu Desktop DESTROYS my CPU. The video turns into a slide show when I go full screen. I actually get much better results with the Hulu website itself.

My guess is that the integrated graphics can't handle the 52" image.

But Netflix, iTunes, and others all run fine...

Has anyone had this issue? Any idea how to make Hulu desktop run better?

I have some juiced out specs too:

2.33GHZ custom Core 2 Duo CPU (was Core 2 solo, but I swapped the processor)
2G Ram
GMA950 GPU

Thoughts?
Wow. This is actually WORSE than when they were going to do that mini game in the first one. You know, the one where you stuck a tampon in some guy's bullet wound? God I'm glad they took that out.

Seriously though, I didn't think it was possible, but WOW- They actually added something that makes the second game EVEN WORSE than the first one!

Dear lord. When will they learn!

Do they really think I care about some dumb ass rent a cop? Please. How about they work on the gameplay and the main story, rather than some crappy comic book cut scene that people are just going to pound the start button through!
Yawn.

This is the best evidence to date that Heckler was right all along. The Wii truly is two Gamecubes duct taped together.

I'm actually glad my Wii broke. That way I'm not even tempted to waste my money buying the same games that came out in 2004.

And this is coming from the guy who had posters of Miyamoto on his wall as a teenager.

It's sad, but Nintendo is dead to me now.

Time to go play Gears of War 2 with my 65 year old parents coast to coast over Xbox Live.

Eat my shorts Nintendo.

Long live Xbox 360!
OMFG. Full Throttle would ROCK MY WORLD.
This is an excellent question! I have a very similar setup myself. I actually just cut a 105 minute documentary using this type of setup exclusively. After 2 months of cutting, I can say that big screen LCD TVs are the ONLY way to work if you are a freelance editor!

Here's my setup:

Macbook Pro (pre unibody) 2.5Ghz, 4GB ram, 512 Graphics.
DVI -> HDMI Cable
Samsung ln52a550 52" 1080P LCD TV
Logitech Bluetooth Dinovo Edge Keyboard
Logitech V450 Nano Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks (NOT Bluetooth, cause bluetooth mice SUCK)
Sofa

Basically, it's a HTPC setup... for editing, and it rocks. I sit 6' away, and have full command of the setup.

I HIGHLY recommend working with LCDs if you're using it as a timeline and viewing monitor. I have excellent results, and all my clients are blown away by the comfort of my setup. IMO, LCDs also offer a much more "quiet" screen, which is great for a timeline monitor. Plasma screens tend to be a bit more "buzzy", and will probably give you a headache if you're using them for a timeline screen.

Two very important things:

1) You GOTTA go 1080P. Just don't even consider 720. There isn't enough resolution to work with unless you're 1080P.

2) You need an LCD with "PC Mode." Basically, PC Mode means 1:1 pixel mapping, so you get stunning results. Many people try to hook up their computers to LCD TVs or Plasmas, and they get awful results. This is because most TVs overscan, sharpen, and post process the image like crazy. With PC Mode, you get beautiful colors and perfect text.

With my setup, I feel like I have a 52" version of the 30" apple cinema display. I'm typing this on my setup right now. In fact, I never even use my laptop screen anymore, because this setup is THAT awesome!

Also, I HIGHLY recommend Samsung. They are truly the best bang for the buck. I've had my TV for 1.5 years, and I'm still blown away every time I turn it on.

Bottom line, before you purchase your set, make sure it has a PC Mode. Typically, it is only ONE HDMI port that supports PC Mode... so keep this in mind as well. I purchased an HDMI switch to overcome this issue, so I can play Xbox 1:1 pixels as well :-)

Check the AVS forums for some really in depth analysis of the model you're considering.

Also, I should note that I DO NOT have a 120hz (or higher) set. Personally, I find anything over 60hz looks really weird. You may want to research that, and make sure you can turn the 120hz feature off, because it will really make your framerate look weird!!! Either that, or just buy a 60hz set!

After spending nearly a month comparing all the services, there is one clear winner. If you want something like Backblaze that, well, actually backs up everything you want, get CrashPlan. They have an offsite service called CrashPlan Central. I've been using CrashPlan Central since February, and it works great. No wait time to restore files... Backup anything you want... No file size limit... Works with externals, network volumes... basically anything. It's very controllable, with tons of options. Basically, "it just works." And, best of all, CrashPlan Central is free for 30 days, so you can test it out with a bunch of files and see what you think!
Try openDNS. Solved all my problems. opendns.com

Before opendns, I was getting all sorts of lag. Once I switched, HD all the time.

Good luck!
For anyone with Netflix and Xbox 360 problems - BOOM - here's the fix: openDNS. I had constant streaming problems. Tons of rebuffering. As soon as I entered open DNS- INSTANT FULL HD STREAMING!!!! Google openDNS- it's an easy fix. Enjoy!

"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
