While getting ready to BBQ this last weekend, I was shopping for some steaks and some cheeckin at the local Jewel in Chicago. While placing the meat in my basket, a small sticker from the steak package stuck to my shopping list.

The sticker read something along the lines of how to safely handle the meat products, detailing how to clean the meat and the area and utensils you use during the preparation.

I noticed something odd about the sticker though. It wasn't made of paper, and it was kind of thick, with a thicker band running around the edge of the sticker about 1/4" wide. I tried to tear the sticker in half, and couldn't, it had a sort of thin laminated plastic coating. I took out my keys and jabbed at it until it tore open, and sure enough RFID inside.

Then I looked down the aisle; every package of meat, be it beef, swine or bird, had one of these 'safe handling' stickers on it.

What I want to know is this: who is so interesting in the meat that I am eating?
As an architect I use the caps lock for most of the day doing construction documents. Choke on a mule caps haters.
#10: I remember you used to be able to order a free cd-rom from the Apple website 6-8 years ago had a bunch of Mac propaganda on it including a video clip of Gates declaring the Mac OS to be the best out there.
#9: Being sarcastic. Actually - being an architect is hard to do on a mac. Autodesk has as far as i know made PC their priority, having worked with architects that use Macs I can tell you that interoperability between competing cad packages leaves much to be desired.

Maybe now that both operating systems run on similar hardware, it will be easier for software companies to provide cross platform versions of their software. I don't really have any experience in how this works, just hoping. I do envy the style of the Mac but I am too used to autocad and 3ds max to ever think about switching and leaving them behind.

2 cents.
I agree with #'s 2,3,4 and 6. Number 5 - that's just crazy talk. Being a design professional I personally would switch in an instant to a mac if it could run Photoshop. snark.
I wish I had a coaxial input on my set. The only inputs in my old console tv are two flathead screws. I have to use a coaxial to 2 pronged wire transformer to get anything plugged in. Does anyone else have a tv with the uhv/vhf on the dial still?

My setup is sweet though: I have my xbox, dvd player, directv dvr & playstation all plugged into an rca input switcher which outputs one set of rca that go into the RF adapter, which outputs to coaxial which is then downgraded by the coaxial to 2 wire transformer.

All in all, my picture is very green and the v-sync has to be adjusted every time the doorbell rings.

"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
