Sep 3rd 2008 8:23PM I'm quick to criticize Darren Murph - or any of the other engadget editors when I think they're out of line, but Darren is spot on here.
Chilin calls it lamp-free because there is no traditional bulb. Darren talks about the lamp life because something that emits artificial light is a lamp whether it has a bulb or light-emitting diodes.
If you want to pick on Darren, pick on him for calling the manufacturer Chillin though it's an easy mistake when the rig is liquid-cooled.
