get ripbot264, uses h.264 so no need for xvid :)
odd. not that im too fussed just want a stand alone unit with no games or cards :) silver would be nice, although a few more colours would be good, paint isnt that expensive in england sony :D
this is very good news :) for anyone who uses the psp for video you will probably have noticed the smearing when black and very dark colours were used.

now i wont have to tweak my scripts to add brightness.

i like this update, my old psp has a weird 4 pixel halo around the edges so i need a new one. would like some colour variation though
the thing that would have made it very useful, you already have the thing. As its just a the GPS receiver and software, if the price was right, its kinda cool if you dont have a satnav already.

plus walking about in major cities held its attraction for me as i live just outside london.
us in the UK had a long wait for the system as well, the price originally listed at 28 quid (darn yank keyboard, no pound sign!) before going upto the insane 100 quid now its out and about at argos.

i was extremely excited about it but at about twice the price of the cheapest touch screen sat nav, it quickly lost any appeal :(
if anyone wants to convert their avi with divx/xvid, have a look on google for ripbot264
i agree :( this is a horrible case and nothing has been solved as yet and i dont wanna read it about it again on this site because it has a tentative psp link :(
confused :( one of the classic names in shooters and its not a shooter, sometimes i wonder how on earth decisions like this get made.
480x272 means its then watchable on the TV out if you wanted to take your PSP to somewhere where the blu-ray isnt. Sure it looks good on your PSP, but if you dont throw loads of bit rate at the file, the output on large TV's can look shoddy.

if only blu ray wasn't so wrapped up in god awful DRM we could just convert the film ourselves, you know, like we have been doing just fine with DVD's for years....

god some of the teats on this thread really make my head hurt.

i don't own either format, so ive no stupidly expensive outlay to justify....

I personally have nothing but contempt for the entire movie industry for blanket assuming all people are pirates. In a world where the realisation that DRM is a complete wast of time, the movie companies roll out the most irritating versions yet.

anyway, is it cracked as such, or is it just the ability to copy the entire disk and back it up, you still cant convert to another format?

either way, as much as i like HD, there is really no need to pay out a fortune and support god awful DRM formats, ill stick with DVD and just enjoy watching the films :P
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I love my little computing companion but I often find myself missing a full sized keyboard. I have been looking at several of these portable and flexible keyboards, but I can't seem to make up my mind about which I should buy. I don't want the keyboard to be overly expensive, but I want it to be good quality. Also, how difficult is it to type on these keyboards? Thanks!"
