New Canon 5D Mark II details leak out {Engadget}
Aug 17th 2008 11:31AM The no live view makes me a bit suspect, as every Canon release for the last 1.5 years has had it, and that includes everything from the 1Ds III series to the 1000D Rebel. I can't imagine they'd remove a feature like that, and still add a VGA display.

Sony Reader PRS-505 (second gen) hands-on: we're in love {Engadget}
Oct 13th 2007 3:06AM Yes, you can jump to pages directly now, and the reader has always remembered where you are in each book.
Sony Reader PRS-505 (second gen) hands-on: we're in love {Engadget}
Oct 12th 2007 6:13PM Actually while straight PDF on device looks bad, unless the PDF was published with a 6" screen in mind, you can use a utility called PDFRasterfarian (you can find it on the mobileread.com forums) to re-render the PDF for the smaller screen, that does a very good job. It does take a bit of time to run for larger PDF files however.
Sony Reader PRS-505 (second gen) hands-on: we're in love {Engadget}
Oct 12th 2007 6:12PM David: What file size/directory path? I am looking at my PRS505 now, and there are no file sizes, and as the thing doesn't allow for directories (just "collections") there are no paths for that either.
Interface is pretty straightforward actually, but I would want directories on it. Collections are much better than they were in the previous version, but they don't replace an actual hierarchal file structure.
The screen isn't that bad though, the grey is about the color of most of my paperbacks (but that could be due to age, I don't buy as many paper books as I used to)
How would you change the Sony Reader? {Engadget}
Aug 24th 2007 5:52PM I have one, I like it. I'm an avid reader, but I can easily read through a paperback book in the course of a normal day during my commute (~2hrs) and the paper books take up more space. The screen on the reader is actually really good, I can forget its an electronic device when using it.
It does have problems though. Some have been fixed through user hacks (directly go to page number is now possible) but some sort of folder system would pretty much put it to where I need it to be. Hopefully someone (Sony or otherwise) will release a reader that does this soon.
Fujitsu LIfebook T2010 tablet snooped at the FCC {Engadget}
Jul 23rd 2007 3:44PM There's a "Penabled" sticker from Wacom on the left, and the Intel, and Vista stickers on the right.
Looks pretty good all in all, I have a T4215 and it's a nice tablet.

Hitachi's TravelStar 5K250 laptop drive hits 250GB {Engadget}
Jun 5th 2007 11:55AM Doesn't really matter, none of these drives are available yet. The WD one is listed at one online store for 300, and its out of stock, so you can't buy any of the 250 gb notebook sata drives yet at all. I wonder when they will actually be released.
