Oct 13th 2006 2:46PM Hmmm... I believe additional wireless controllers are in order for the "friendly" fire frag-fests. But, I have say that a wireless headset would make it very nice for XBox Live nights, too. (I so hate the original XBox console's communicator headseat)
The ultimate accessory, however, would have to be a new, dedicated display for the console. Wouldn't you agree? Something like the Samsung LN-S5797D (57" LCD HDTV). While we're at it, let's throw in a new surround sound theater, too; like the Samsung HT-Q100.
Hey, we can dream, right?

Apr 29th 2006 8:51AM Can anyone say "Bolo"? I knew you could.
Seriously, we're approaching the point where the Bolo's of Keith Laumer's S/F universe could start appearing. Nuclear power. Weapons arrays. Super computers. It's coming ... assuming we don't have a blow out with Iran that reduces the planet to slag first.
New Xbox 360 CPU should run cooler {Engadget}
Apr 21st 2006 2:58PM I believe that the bulk of the overheating issues for the 360 consoles were due to poor QA where the packaging foil for the heatsinks wasn't being removed. Once removed, the overheating issues for those consoles has been eliminated.
I'm all for a less power hungry chip, and if they can produce a 60nm chip that runs cooler and uses less power, great for us all.

Konica Minolta throws in the towel, quits the camera biz {Engadget}
Jan 19th 2006 7:51AM I've been using Minolta products for better than 20 years. I still have 2 X-700 bodies, and lenses to go with them along with my Z2. This is not happy news for me...but, hey, with Nikon killing their film camera line, it would seem there's a change on the wind (yeah, as if we didn't already know that).
I suspect it might be 5-10 years and there won't be any film to purchase, much less film cameras and accessories. "Photo centers" will be come commercial high speed color printer centers - if they're even manned. I mean, Kodak's kiosk where you load your memory card (digital film) and pick, crop, and print the shots you want without dealing with any employees is probably how it will turn out. There's a hit to the work force...
