Secret Diary of a Call Girl: Episode 1-04 {TV Squad}

Jul 8th 2008 9:32AM Apparently we are on different wavelengths because I enjoy this show. But I like Californication even better and can't wait for its return.

Mac 101: Parental Controls {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jul 7th 2008 1:40PM I'm very dissapointed in the parental controls. I previously had used a commercial product called Mac Minder that did exactly what I wanted it to do.

Then Apple introduces its parental controls with 10% of the functionality and as a result, MacMinder is no longer published.

Hey apple: Take a look at Mac Minder and put those features into your parental controls. How about:

1. per-program, per-day time limits
2. program groups for use in #1
3. Ability to easily temporarily bypass restrictions and/or add time
4. import/export of user settings

Sprint's Airave signal booster in the wild, on sale nationwide this month? {Engadget}

Jul 1st 2008 2:03PM If, as several people below have suggested, that you only need to pay a monthly fee if you want unlimited calling, I'd happily pay a one-time $99 fee for the box to fix my reception problems at home.

Fujitsu unveils LifeBook P8010 Pink Gold Edition with WWAN {Engadget}

Jul 1st 2008 1:55PM Sure there are 13" laptops for less than a grand, but probably not ones that weigh 3lbs with a DVD writer, camera, WWAN, 802.11n, 6hr battery and WXGA.

In the Autoblog Garage: 2008 Porsche Cayman S {Autoblog}

Jun 30th 2008 4:58PM It's not really fair to compare horsepower figures for a 1997 Boxster (201 hp) to a 2007 Pontiac Solstice (260hp).

For example: My 2007 Audi S4 has the same horsepower (340hp) as the then-top-of-the-range 1976 Ferrari 512 BB Boxer. And I have A/C, room for 5 + luggage, navigation.... Those Ferrari Boxers really sucked.

Instead, compare the 1997 Boxster to the then-new 1996 BMW Z3 with 138hp. Or perhaps to the soon-to-be-released 1997 BMW Z3 with the more powerful V6 engine -- 189hp.

All of a sudden, 201hp doesn't seem so bad.

Even the 911 only had 282hp in 1997.

Olympus announces 360-degree CCD sensor prototype, surveillance firms drool {Engadget}

Jun 30th 2008 1:25PM I know I'm being an ass, but the word you are looking for is "beeline" not "B-line".

Burn Notice: A day on the set {TV Squad}

Jun 24th 2008 4:26PM How could you write an entire page about Burn Notice and not mention Bruce Cambpell? He's half the reason I watch the show! OK, maybe 1/3 of the reason....

I'll have to shift the percentages around again when Number Six joins the cast...

Father's Day Sweepstakes, Day 5: TomTom ONE 3rd Edition {Autoblog}

Jun 20th 2008 2:38PM I got a t-shirt from thinkgeek.com that says "WTF: What the Frak?"
