Unlikely the Harmony will work, as this new remote is RF (you don't want to try and do trackpad-like control over IR...)
All of the "old style" H2O Audio headphones are basically useless for swimming. They are waterproof, but simply are not designed for swimming, and won't work worth a damn.

The new "Surge" headphones they have look like they might work better. At least they will sit inside your ear canal and seal out the water, which their other headphones never did a good job of (seriously, they suggest you waterproof them by packing wax ear plug material around them - no thanks!)

The SwimMan (http://www.swimman.com) headphones are pretty good. I had a chance to try them out for a few laps and didn't have any trouble with them staying in, or hearing the audio. Kind of pricey if you are outside of the US ($35 shipping? Really?)

The Freestyle Audio headphones are OK if they fit you. If not, well, you are out of luck. Way better than the H2O headphones, not as nice as the SwimMan. But for $10, they are worth a try.

From that picture it looks like they are attempting to fix the worst part of the Navigon software - entering an address. It is a truly horrible experience. Bad enough that we returned our Navigon 5100 a week after buying it. Maybe they will roll out the redesign to the existing models through a software update?
This exploits the "analog hole" you've probably heard so much about. They can't reliably take an HDMI (digital) input and record it due to HDCP. But since most devices will output analog 1080i over the component outputs, this device can convert it to MPEG4 and you can record it. I'm just hoping that it completely ignores CGMS-A flags, or else the benefits will be greatly reduces.
The car window analogy is pretty weak. How about "would you pay top dollar for a car that got bad radio reception a couple of times a day?"

It's not like half of the HD channels are not working, it's that some of the HD channels have the occasional audio or video glitch. The problem is that if that once-an-hour glitch happens during some important dialog on your favorite show, you get really pissed off!
The audio drops and video issues have gotten a lot better in the last month, but there is still the occasional glitch. Some channels are worse than others (PBS and Fox Detroit are the worst for me.)
Not if it obeys CGMS-A. Think of it as the analog version of the broadcast flag.
Why must every Honda be so damn ugly. Have they made a good looking car in the last 20 years? (Hint: the answer is no.)

Solid, reliable, well performing, yes. Good looking? Nope. This thing makes a Yaris look like a Porsche.
My guess is that Apple is paying license fees to someone for the new apps. They are nice enough to absorb this cost into the base price of newly sold iPod's, but for already-shipped units they need to add a charge.

Don't want to pay $20? Don't get the new apps.
Quad HD sets are the future of TV. Why? Because a quad HD set can natively display all of the other DTV resolutions without conversion. Sweetness indeed. Run it at 120Hz and it's the only display that can show all 18 DTV resolutions and refresh rates.

Now I just need to wait for the first Super-HD-BluRay players to come out that support native 4320p video.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"My father-in-law is heading back to school in the spring and wants a laptop for Christmas. The only catch is their budget is around $400 and he does not want a netbook. He's not very "tech savvy" at all and doesn't need a hoss of a machine (not that $400 could get you one). We would like to get it for him as soon as possible and would love some input."
