I use one of these at work (in another role) and it's pretty simply to plug a HDMI + USB HUB + USB NIC + USB Storage and have a full featured media playback device.
The commercial rings true for most of us though. I was given a macbook pro, I used it, I liked it, but in the end, I put $500 in my pocket and bought LOADED pc. To each his own. I enjoyed the mac experience but I got nothing from it. I'm far from the average user, I have a college degree a couple cars and good job and I fix computers on the side for kicks.
oh also as someone mentioned above, the 3870 is olde, they should get some modern gfx muscle in that monster
3870x2?? I bought a sub $1000 gateway with a 9800 GTS and a p8400 that is competitive with that machine. And its not too bad looking. I took it to my friends house and it ran L4D as well and better than their desktops. These notebook mfgs need to take a hard look at what gateway is doing with the PXXXX line, its pretty awesome.
yes he drones on and on. This whole video should have taken about 2 minutes.
fwiw I can get a decent 15" machine with c2d and 2gb of ram for $450 pretty easily at the dell outlet. It all comes down to convenience I suppose
I'm in yo. I'll sell 90%
I fully agree with the MMS whiners. I mean what if they stopped allowing SMS and told us to use email? Its pretty damn stupid. If you want to receive MMS you can give out an email address that will allow you to receive on your phone, but sending is super tricky. F that. its not just apple who has left MMS behind and it pisses me off.

(I pay $30 soemthing a month for unlimited data/texting/500 minutes and I want my value dangit~!!!)
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
