srsly....get a sense of humor. Shatner refers to himself as a "has-been" with a wink and a nod.
My shop finally switched to InDesign a little over a year ago. As much as I hate it, I hate Quark even more. They haven't had a decent release since 4.11.

Memo to Quark (and Adobe): Bloat does not make your app better.

Just as a bunch of indie developers are lining up to take on the bloated, nearly unusable mess that is Photoshop, so will they eventually turn on quark and InDesign. Very few of the new features they keep introducing are actually useful. I long for the day when these programs were simple, useful and responsive. I'd trade all the newfangled BS for just a snappier response and the ability to string together useful key commands.

The only thing Quark had going for it was a better toolbar. Adobe got better with CS3 and Quark got worse with 7.0, so it's a tie now. I'm just praying Adobe fixes some more of the UI stuff, as I am stuck with them. As for Quark, please just fade away...
Get an editor if you're going to continue "writing" for TUAW. You should be embarrassed.
Shame the good bloggers are steadily leaving TUAW. Please don't replace them with any more children or self-indulgent attention mongers.

I used to love this blog...
Whine, whine, whine....

Erica, you are insufferable, as are many of your iPhone developer comrades.

Please go develop for Open Moko or Android. Please. You're clearly not happy with Apple, and you ceased being productive or helpful a long time ago. At this point you're more interested in complaining as a means to the spotlight you seem to crave.

Just go away...
Yeah, let's hope they support iPhone games a little better than they do Mac Games. It's been 6 weeks since Battlefield 2142 was updated for PC, but not for Mac, making the game virtually unplayable for Mac users.

Throw in the facts it's almost twice as expensive, they never bothered to release the expansion pack for Mac, and that it runs horribly due to the fact it's just emulated, not actually ported, and we get an idea what EA thinks of Mac users.
Mine will likely go in the "iPods of Yore" Museum.

But if the prices really stick around $500 like some are saying they will, I'll be tempted to sell it and use the money upgrade my MacBook or iMac.
Don't get me started on EA. As a regular Battlefield 2142 player, I couldn't be more angry and disappointed with them. They released an update a month ago for PC, yet there's still no Mac version.

Is this a big deal? You bet. BF2142 is an online-only game. So I watched as my available servers went from hundreds to 10 on a good day.

Plus, the game is almost twice as expensive for Mac, they have yet to release the Northern Strike booster pack, and the Mac version is slower and buggier.

EA can go jump in a lake.
If you're writing a blog entry for TUAW, "why not" read what you wrote for extraneous words. Or, "why not" have a TUAW editor?

Sheesh - even blogs should have some editorial standards. This sounds like a high schooler wrote it. Oh wait... "why not" have a high school kid blogging at TUAW?
Total crap. I guarantee you somewhere there's a group of Apple designers who sigh with grief every time they see this thing.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
