I am going to completely pass over this first generation of HD disks. DRM, competing formats, incompatibility with older HDTVs (like mine)... it's all a bunch of crap. I'm content with HD content over cable right now. Give me Tivo series 3 and I'll be set for a few years.
Holy Lord,

There isn't even enough good television to fill up an 80 hour Tivo. What the freakin' hell would anyone want this for?

Hey... knock knock...

iPod isn't for everyone. Only short-sightedness would lead people to say that it's the best DAP hands down. It's just one option out of many.

I quickly crossed it off my list of possibilities because of:

1)Limited format support.
2)Lack of drag&drop music support. (not as important)

I hate having to use proprietary software as an interface. This turned me off of Creative Labs real quick. I hear that iTunes is great, but I enjoy supporting open-source projects... really, how hard is it to include support for a FREE audio format. If iPod supported OGG or APE I'd be all over it. Perhaps I'd even learn to like iTunes as well.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
