Why does our own country (usa) not buy these? At $150 they are only a little more than a years worth of textbooks, and they would actually help move this country into the 21st century.

It is insane that Libya is taking more aggressive steps towards computer literacy than we are. Think of the benefits for teachers, Automatically generated and graded math tests, teaching programming (logic, math, interactivity) in second grade, one computer instead of 15 books to haul around, ability to tailor curriculums to different modalities of learning, ability to update textbooks instantly, open source (cheap) textbooks...
Looks just like an 80's cablebox.
I wonder if the UV light is on continuously?

Re the mold growing on the inside of the bread: Since the inside of the bread has been heated to several hundred degrees and then is somewhat sealed from the outside it is relatively safe from mold for quite a while. The only time I have ever seen mold inside a loaf was when it had been sliced.

I wonder if having a UV light strategically placed would reduce the number of science experiments growing inside my fridge?
Do a google search for Whegs and find a lot more like this
I spilled a pint of india ink into the top of my stereo receiver while it was off. I let the ink dry for a couple of days and turned it on, to hear a very loud hummm. I took off the top of the receiver and with a napkin and q-tip cleaned it pretty thoroughly and let it dry. Less Humm. I took the top off again and held it under the sink faucet for about a minute, let it dry, and it worked like a champ for 4 years, after which I sold it (still working).
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
