I think it has something to do with those original Toshiba chips they used on the Zune 30. Evidently they had a bug

Found this interesting tidbit on Gizmodo...

After reading a lot of posts it looks like this is tied to midnight PST December 30th 2008. It may be a coincidence but that today is the 366th day of 2008 since it was a leap year. One part of the firmware probably calculated that it is 2009 already and another that it is still 2008.

I wonder if they all recover at midnight PST tonight?

If someone with a 30, can recover enough to change the Zune's clock to some other day.... does that fix the problem?

+1 to the dead zune list. I miss my podcasts... Now the work day will go much slower. I was thinking that since today is GMT 366 (leap year) and the software might not realize that there is in fact a GMT 366, this might just resolve itself tomorrow once it turns over to GMT 1 2009. My industry keeps track of these sorts of things, so my money's on that possibility.
Imagine people who are having New years parties and were planning to play music frm their Zune. lol, smh
Oh man, MS is about to enter 2009 with a huge PR disaster. smh
My goodness!!! My 30 gig bricked and I was just about to log on to the Zune website to get a fix, and i saw this. Microsoft has some explaining to so. I cant believe this is widespread. Did they have a self-destruct timer on it or something? I have sooo much music on my 30 gig. MS need to clear this up real quick.
I think these ads are great and they should continue them. They will totally make Apple look elitist

"With all the new multitouch capable monitors coming out, which one is the best? With the release of Windows 7 I really want a touchscreen monitor for my desktop. I'm looking to get a Full HD monitor that supports multitouch and can still look great during gaming and movies. Which one has the best specs for the price?"
