I have an OQO Model 02 with a 120gb hard drive and it was $2000 but since I was going to spend that much on a laptop anyway I figured why not try one. It works great the battery life could stand to be a little better but since I'm not too far from an outlet for too long it doesn't bother me that much. I didn't get one with a SSD since I didn't really need one. I know it's supposed to be better and less likely to die from being banged around and whatnot but I take care of mine and don't go throwing it around all aver the place. Plus I couldn't really justify $500 more for only 32gb of space which was the highest sized SSD drive they had at the time.
Poor xbox360 will it's trouble ever be over? First it's the RROD issue and now Live is having issues. Don't get me wrong I love my 360 as well as my Wii and PS3 and so far I haven't got a RROD and since I don't use Live I can't really complain if it's down or not since it doesn't bother me either way. But I do find it interesting that the free services (Wii/PS3) work fine but the one that charges you has all the problems. Maybe it's because more people use Live than the others. I understand that numbers mean a lot but still there has to be at least a million or so users online with the Wii and PS3 if not more. I know that isn't the same numbers as with Live but it's still a lot of people and come on no glitches or outages what's up with that?
Well I did live in the south until I moved to LA and the some of the people there did wade at the shallow end of the gene pool. I don't think Shaneoboy was insulting anyone because let's face it there are a lot of trailer parks in the south.

Also you are right people shouldn't use the term "redneck" the politically correct term is "Appalachian American"
I refuse to partake in the mindless slaughter of thousands of innocent pumpkins for entertainment purposes. If it was for food or shelter then yes that's ok, plus I'm not very good at carving pumpkins :).
G4 was recently dropped from my current cable package no big loss. I guess I could get it back if I wanted but I would have to upgrade to a higher package and there isn't anything on G4 worth the extra $10 a month it would cost to get it. I will admit that I did watch AOTS once in a while and even X-Play was not that great. Every episode I saw was so outdated it was just sad plus their rating system sucked almost every game got a 3... out of 5.
I really don't care about this or any other environmental nonsense. I'm going to live a maximum of 50 more years so barring some nuclear war or an asteroid hitting the earth this planet will be around at least until I die. So I will continue doing what I do and not really worry about this pinning mudball. As far as the whole "think about your kids" thing well I hate children and so does my wife so we aren't really worried about the future generations. Well I'm off to pour my used motor oil down my drain c-ya.
I've never had a problem with Bestbuy, it's really the only place I get my electronics. I don't buy a lot a tech stuff but it beats shopping at Circuit City since they don't seem to have the stuff I'm looking for. I've never bought a computer from them so I don't know about their sales policies on them, but otherwise they seem OK to me.
This reminds me of a friend of mine who kept having to use her cell phone every time the power went out because her cordless phones wouldn't work. I told her just to get a regular corded phone to use in an emergency since it will work even though the main house power is out. She was surprised that it would work I guess it just goes to show that not everyone knows that the phone company has its own power source.
I couldn't agree more, it seems like today kids are forced into reality earlier and earlier. Just let the kids have their fun there will plenty of time for them to grow up and learn the harsh facts of life. Kids need to hold on to their childhood as long as they can, they don't need to be rushed into becoming jaded cynical adults. After all there is already enough pressure put on kids nowadays without someone taking their dolls away from them.
For Gods' sake people it's only a TOY I doubt this will have any impact on the spending habits of the children playing with it. Because by the time they are old enough to get a credit card they will have taken at least one economics class in school or heaven forbid their parents have taught them the value of a dollar. Also with the attention spans of most young kids these days they will probably get board with the thing long before it makes any lasting impression on them.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"With all the new multitouch capable monitors coming out, which one is the best? With the release of Windows 7 I really want a touchscreen monitor for my desktop. I'm looking to get a Full HD monitor that supports multitouch and can still look great during gaming and movies. Which one has the best specs for the price?"
