All I have to say is wow. I was a longtime Palm fan, both OS and hardware. My smartphone lineage went from the Sprint Samsung i300 to i330, Treo 600 to Treo 650. After the 650, I switched to Verizon because Sprint was becoming the dumpster-fire it is today.

Long story short, I played with WinMo, got stuck on Blackberry, and have always lusted after the iPhone (not willing to go to ATT though; VZW service is great). I just got the Storm, and I've come to like it despite its quirks. But it never got rid of that desire I had for the iPhone. The Pre has single-handedly stolen my heart from the iPhone and renewed my Palm fanboyism. I can't wait to use this, and I can't wait for it to come to Verizon.

This. Kit. Looks. Hot.

Roku is by far not a startup. Ever heard of the Soundbridge? Sorta revolutionary. They produce great products and are friendly to the hacking community
Ahh, in was in the throes of death then. I thought they had all closed down some time ago. I agree, those few square miles in Plano are saturated with great electronics retailers.
I saw the old CompUSA off 75 in Plano, Texas, the other day and it looked like it was open. I was very confused, but this explains it.

I actually liked CompUSA a lot, but I'm not a big fan of TigerDirect, so I'll probably stay away.
Scared. For. Life.
Even though I'm a diehard Mac user, I indeed believe that Bill Gates is a great man that has built a great company.

If Gates can do for medicine and healthcare what he did for the technology industry, just think how great the world will be in thirty years.

Cheers Mr. Gates, and great luck in your new endeavors!
Exactly what I was thinking. You'd think somebody would protect their source a little better.
As far as Toshiba's comments concerning HD DVD players outselling Blu-Ray players in 2007: I call shenanigans. I'm pretty sure they don't count the PS3 in that equation.

I've got both types of players, but it always seemed to me that the deck was stacked in Blu-Ray's favor since it was included in the PS3.
I got a Chumby! It rocks so far but the speakers pop a little bit.
@ Austin.

Best. Post. Eva.

Step 2. Put your junk in that box.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
