It's a little pricey, but I'll put in another vote for the Edirol (Roland) R-09. Both my fiancee and my mother have one--easy to use, good recording quality, very portable. I researched them pretty heavily back at Xmas, and the Edirol seemed to get better reviews than its competitors.
Obviously, the big question is how this will compare to the Sony UX280P. Looks like it will be slightly smaller (but not as much as the 01), and missing the Sony's WWAN. Keep on the case, Engadget--I want deets on this one! I'm considering buying something of this form factor...although I'm sure the OQO 02's specs are set, here's what I'd like to see:
- Intel Core Solo ULV (competitive with the Sony)
- real graphics (competitive with the Sony, necessary for Vista)
- better keyboard (backlighting a must)
- touchscreen display competitive w/ Sony--I haven't gotten to see a UX in person, but I think I want the higher resolution (1024x600)
- 1 Gb RAM
- better battery life
- cameras are nice but not necessary
- don't care about fingerprint scanner
- and importantly: undercut Sony's price
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
