AppleTV + Elgato Turbo.264 HD + iFlicks = downloading bliss. Y'all are missing out.
I can't remember the last time I encountered a Java applet. Is this technology still needed for anything?
Why exactly would you be worried about RFID in an iPhone? An iPhone is always connected to a cellular network, which can be used to find where you are. By the time someone would be close enough to track your position from an embedded RFID device, they've already found you. In other words, if you're worried about being tracked by a signal with a range of no more than a meter, then the last thing you should own is *any* mobile phone.
heh. I just tried it, and Spotlight brought up about eight different files with "safari" in the name as the top hit, including various stylesheets, a file called MobileSafariSettings.bundle, and even a few songs.

It eventually settled on a folder called "safari", which turned out to be a TinyMCE plug-in for Safari compatibility.
So other than the look of the panel vs the drawer, why exactly would I want to use this? I already get SVN functionality and various other features on this checklist using stock Textmate with the included bundles. But if there's something that this does better, I'd love to hear about it.
This could be great news, if this ends up as a model for use in other kinds of shipping. Especially with the recent oil spill disaster in our bay, getting fuel and oil out of the boats would be huge.
I wonder if the international keyboards come with international dictionaries. It's a bit difficult to type in italian when every word gets corrected!
Does anyone else find it strange there's only one woman in the ads? Surely Apple isn't stuck in the "toys for boys" mindset about electronics.
The Wii is great, but that was 2006's gadget of the year. I can't think of any other device in 2007 that received more talk than the iPhone, starting from the rumors to its announcement in January to its release in June and every point in between and after. Love it or hate it, own it or not, 2007 was absolutely the year of the iPhone.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"For a long time I have been searching for a portable device where I can store all of my CDs in MP3 format and stream the songs wirelessly to my HiFi system. The portable device must I've tried FM transmitters, they all suck. I don't want a docking station. Any help? Thanks!" have a display so that I easily can scroll through the playlists (I don't want to use a TV or monitor). I suppose that there must also be a second device that is connected to the HiFi system that would receive the wireless streams from the portable device.
