OMG! It's MEGAMAN!!!
See, now that the new device is out, that means all you rich guys will run out and buy it and sell your old device on ebay or craigslist - and I'll get to buy the old device at half of what you paid last year when it was a new device. This is awesome!
So.... It's exactly the same as the DSi - only with bigger screens. Alrightly then.
@Yoshi1080 Because the DS line of game systems are more fun than the PSP line maybe?
An Atom CPU?!?!?

Do you have any idea how stupid that is? There's no way any Atom CPU could power the PS3. Look at what is powering it now.

CPU: Cell Processor

* PowerPC-base Core @3.2GHz
* 1 VMX vector unit per core
* 512KB L2 cache
* 7 x SPE @3.2GHz
* 7 x 128b 128 SIMD GPRs
* 7 x 256KB SRAM for SPE
* * 1 of 8 SPEs reserved for redundancy total floating point performance: 218 GFLOPS

GPU: RSX @550MHz

* 1.8 TFLOPS floating point performance
* Full HD (up to 1080p) x 2 channels
* Multi-way programmable parallel floating point shader pipelines

The fastest Atom tops out at 1.66 Ghz - and despite the appearance, it's not even half as powerful as the current CPU.
Full Backwards compatibility (PS1 & PS2 from ISOs or disc)
DVR capibility [Maybe on a more expensive higher end model with a bigger hard drive] (like the PSX from Japan - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSX_%28DVR%29 )
Allow installation of other OSes (Linux at least)
Multiformat Card Reader
Bundled BlueTooth keyboard and/or media remote
Better web browsing
BluRay Burner (or at least DVD-burner)
Built-in HD FM receiver
Bundle a HDMI cable

That's really about it - and, no I wouldn't expect all of that at $299, although that would be nice

I also like the idea of a cheaper model with a smaller hard drive. Say an 80 GB for $249 or 40 GB for $199.
Do you get free 3G like that which comes with the Kindle?
I AM TEH WYNNUR!
What day is it?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
