I think in operating theatres they simply shine from a large area, obliviating shadow (kind of). This is a panel, so shadow will be minimised. But all light casts a shadow, just soft or hard shadows.
Once you've signed your contract online, it doesn't need to be in-store, because you've already signed the contract. It may be that the phone is also already activated when you receive it, with the sim card in it.
While I certainly don't particularly like apple, and I wouldn't even get close to considering myself a fanboy (I don't own any apple products for one), I have to say that the Apple one-laptop per screen size concept works remarkably well.

Asus should simplify. Offer 3 laptops, the 701, the 901 and the 1001 (or whatever). Sure, periodically update the specs, but keep the price about constant. People don't like to buy things when there is about 12 different models available.

They should offer each model with a number of different storage and RAM amounts, but it should always be consistent.
That "Huge bulge" is the removable viewfinder mentioned in the blog post and the article.
Tell me, why would this camera cost *more* than the 450D? I could pick up a 450D with the IS kit lens for £515. Why would I pay more for a worse camera? This camera will sell for considerably less than that.
@Adam Schoales

Firstly, you knew what was happening when you bought that computer (assuming you did buy it *just* before the changeover). There was at least 6 months between announcement and the new macbooks.

Secondly, Apple does have a history of changing architectures. It's happened twice. While I don't think much of Microsoft, you should expect it more with apple (where it has happened before) than with a PC (where it has never really happened).

Thirdly, your computer is hardly obsolete because it can't run the latest operating system. A 4 year old (as it will be when this OS is released) laptop can't be expected to run the latest OS. Leopard is hardly obsolete anyway.

I guess it may mark the end for new apps, but to be honest the number of universal apps coming out is decreasing anyway.
It's not a flywheel. The system works using hydraulic pumps and motors. It's not clear exactly what happens, but energy (either from the energy at idle or from braking) is stored as compressed air in an accumulator. When you then go to drive again, instead of pushing the hydraulic fluid (which drives the motors) around with the gasoline engine, you push it with compressed air.
Artemis Intelligent Power (http://www.artemisip.com/appli_auto.htm) have a similar system that is considerably more advanced than that in the article (despite the somewhat dated website). They currently have a converted BMW 5 series, with no need to flip switches (the computer side is as important as the hydraulic side).
The offset of the engine isn't really great enough for much to happen. There will, of course, be a little pulling to the right, but I would imagine the riders body position and slight adjustments of the handlebars (probably subconcious) would make up for that.
I thought the XTi was the successor to the XT, and so the XSi is the successor to the XTi. This doesn't really seem to fit in with Canon's current lineup. I may be wrong of course, but the XT was never a lower-spec version of the XTi, it was just its predecessor.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
