Em, I don't know where this story came from because it's available at my local Virgin Megastore here in Dublin.
That's a beautiful looking computer but I doubt it's going to be sub $300. It jind of puts Palm's folio to shame.
It seems to me that Apple couldn't have just come out and made up the whole story and then put it in a press release if there wasn't some truth to it.
The way Engadget have protrayed this article is misleading. The Goverment have only banned the use of Blackberrys for Government Officials, not the general population.
"Managing Director Alan Johnson of Johnson Associates says that "He knew what he was doing. It wasn't 'the dog ate it.' He backdated the options on purpose and the committee said it will give him a free pass."

Why are so many publications using this as a reason to assume Jobs' guilt when the backdating of stock options in itself is not illegal, but the way it is accounted for?
I think when Leopard is released with full 64bit support across the entire mac line of computers things might start to change. Especially if Apple moves all it's apps to 64 bit. At the moment, with no competition in the space there's little to encourage Adobe to push the envelope with Photoshop
I don't think Apple could possibly have imagined or put the infrastructure in place for such a massive rise in hits to the store on Christmas Day. In all my years of using the iTunes store there have been virtually no issues and any I have encountered have been quickly dealt with by support staff. Considering the cues and wait times at real stores on Christmas Eve, a one off stutter in Apple's virtual store is hardly the end of the World.
I agree, Compact Flash is an important format. I understand why they didn't include it (it wouldn't fit in a sleek enclosure) but im sure there are other cards out there that support CF. It's a pity though because I like Griffin's products.
There's no way Apple would make such a big announcement this close to Macworld and this close to christmas. It would be just daft
It seems pretty clear that this researcher was making huge leaps in his conclusions. Numerous other reports, ones based on actual data rather than a rediculously low sample size completely contridict these claims, as have apple themselves. But what's worse is the stock market is affected because people react witghout thinking, and people who want to use this report for their own agenda will hype it up completely.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for the best geotagging camera currently available. The most important feature for me is the accuracy of the GPS module, so any hard specs on satellite receiver would be really useful. Thanks for your time!"
