Jul 8th 2008 1:41PM Coming from someone who sells GPS, among other things, for a living...tom tom is at the bottom of the big three in terms of reliability. Sure, they have cool features, but they use a different, lesser map provider than Magellan and Garmin.
Tom Tom just has a better advertising department then the other three. There's a reason pilots don't use Tom Tom, they use Garmin. We sell probably 5 garmins for every 1 tom tom.

Jul 8th 2008 12:44PM I'm genuinely wondering, how long are these kind of things going to be around? With more and more phones having built in GPS, aren't the days of the stand alone GPS units numbered? I mean the only limiting factor in my mind for the phones are that the screens are a bit small.

honestly you aren't trying that hard if you don't have one at this point. Many of the major retailers (Target, Circuit City, Best Buy, etc...) stock their consoles on Sundays...so it's not like it's impossible to predict when...it's just a matter of getting up early enough.

Also...I don't think anyone won...nothing amazing was released imho...the only thing that took me by suprise was the new PSP as well as Resident Evil...but neither are amazing to me...overall really boring, I say they all had their strong points...

They couldn't add a second nub or extra features along those lines. If they did it would make all the old PSP's obsolete and therefore alienating all the people who bought the older PSP's...which is something Sony can NOT afford to do right now!

Jul 13th 2007 1:55AM You can get fiber here for about $30, the problem is only one company (Verizon) is installing it, so it's taking a while to roll out. So in the meantime, DSL is the best most people can get, so it still isn't cheap, haha. I'm very envious of you I must say!
