So....I can't use this to play anything other than the programs that come with it, as opposed to, let's say, my vast collection of original retail Commodore 64 disks that I will, let's say, make images of - right? I mean, I can't somehow load an mount disk images...right?
I loved the Baldur's Gate games, and most super-complicated western style RPGS. I never played KotOR, so I don't have that as a reference point. Jade Empire was too action oriented (which made sense for the type of story they were telling) for me, though I did finish it, I just never took advantage of half the combos, special abilities etc. the game offered. With Mass Effect it was not so much the combat interface that bothered me so much as the conversation interface - for some reason it just seemed to really drag whenever I was talking to people, which is notrmally my favorite part of an RPG. So after a while I just lost interest...

I will probably end up getting Dragon Age scince I don't think anybody will be a able to tell me whether or not I will like the interface - I'll just have to try it out.
The last two bioware games I played - Mass Effect and Jade Empire - did not really do too much for me, especailly Mass Effect which I gave up on after a few hours becasue the interface was just bugging the heck out of me.

Based on that, and the statement about the multiple levels of radial menus should I assume that Dragon Age will drive me crazy after a few hours as well?
Wait, wait, wait. I haven't been following this realy before now. Louis Wu? Are they mashing up their ring-shaped worlds?
Can I get it with hundreds of little stacked Marshall amps screened on the fabric? Yes? I still don't want it.
*SIR* Ben Kingsley!!!! Apparently he's very touchy about that, no matter how many bad movies he is in...
It's not just you. After about 10 minutes I came to the conclusion that there aer better things I can be doing with my life than watching this. It's off the DVR list now.
I read something on Joystiq not long ago that seemed to indicate that the next Elder Scrolls game was years away. Which makes me sad, since I recently replayed through Oblivion a bit just to finish the Thief quests (got the ring bug the first time I played it through) and it has reminded me that I really enjoy playing Elder Scrolls games!
So far it's pretty much what I was expecting, and I am enjoying it.

Based on the earlier previews I was actually expecting a stronger RTS element, since everyone was talking about leading giant armies of headbangers and stuff. If anything that has been the only thing that has been super-disappointing...the big battles so far seem more like skirmishes than huge heavy metal album cover battles. That might change though, since I still have not seen all of it. I doubt it though - the RTS controls are not up to big battles, I think.

The "Eddie on the ground" action missions are fun, but there are not enough significant ones. The side misions are disappointing, since they are pretty repetitive. I did love the K.G. cameo though - worked in the game and for his character.

Over all I am having a lot of fun with it, but like others have said it's largely because of the setting and the writing. I don't really like heavy metal and the setting is still funny, entertaining and awesome. There are lot's of little gameplay issues (te damn car's handling, for example) that prevent it from being a great game, but it's still a very good one.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
