D2D has every right to refuse to stock a game that it feels undermines its business model, but I think the statement that it is doing it for "you, the consumer" is a bit disingenuous.
A proxy alone won't help. If the card or Paypal account you pay with doesn't match the country your in (or pretending to be in) Steam will block the purchase for security reasons. I ran into that one the honest way, living abroad.

Option B is getting someone to buy it for you as a gift. I don't think Steam does anything to block that.
Seconded. PicPic has seen more play time in my DS than all other games combined. I love it.

P.S. Not eligible for prizes either.
The general tenor of this article seems to imply that the goal of censorship is some kind of covert anti-American protectionism. I think that's drawing a rather long bow. Given the evidence presented, it ignores the fact that several U.S. states have attempted to regulate the sale of many of these same games as well.
Glad to see a demo coming for this one. If there's no DRM on the demo then I'll be looking forward to trying it out.
It's call auditory pareidolia. Pareidolia can happen to anyone, you're not crazy if you hear or see patterns where none exist. Our brains are built that way. You are however many steps towards crazy if you let false pattern recognition rule your life.
I wonder what their sales expectations are. Single figure sales would be my guess.
It seems like a no-brainer to me to put some XBLA ports on GFWL. A small selection would be unlikely to cannibalise 360 sales, but it would create a real reason to use the client. I have no problem running it alongside Steam, IF they make it worthwhile.
I could see two things that would be really frustrating in a WoD MMO. Firstly, maintaining the Masquerade. While it might be fine for a P&P RPG, online I can just see it being a) annoying to have to deal with for the honest gamer, and b) a constant temptation for dedicated griefers to ruin it.

Secondly (and again this is for vampire characters) being stuck indoors half the day,´or worse still, being forced to sleep through the day would lose a lot of players. What if your routine changes and your free time no longer matches up with nighttime on your server? Character is unplayable.

And yet avoiding these issues (Masquerade is unbreakable, constant night etc.) would diminish the immersive quality of the game. Seems a bit of a conundrum.
I have been a Wind user for about half a year now, and while I like it a great deal I wouldn't just simply recommend it from among all the other equally good offerings, instead I would give just one piece of advice to a potential netbook buyer:

Make sure you get a 10" or thereabouts sized model so that you get a reasonably sized keyboard.

There are a number of other considerations to be made when purchasing, but that's the one that gives you half a chance of having a device that is useful as a decent secondary PC.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"With all the new multitouch capable monitors coming out, which one is the best? With the release of Windows 7 I really want a touchscreen monitor for my desktop. I'm looking to get a Full HD monitor that supports multitouch and can still look great during gaming and movies. Which one has the best specs for the price?"
