Nissan would rather build their own plant in the anti-union south than use a gm plant and have to use UAW labor. By doing so they would also run the risk of the UAW getting into their other US plants.
I know thats what I'm saying. Why include a fingerprint reader when it just performs the same task as typing in your password? To me it's a useless accessory.
What the hell is the point of these fingerprint readers? Why not the good ol password? Talk about the most useless laptop accessory ever created!
Lee Gibson why would you say that? Last I checked 90% of GM's north american vehicles were american made. They employ 20x the number of workers in the US that toyota does and I don't see them running countless add campaigns trying to tell people they're something they're not.

Meanwhile toyota is creating jobs in the US, good for them. But look at Honda and Nissan, they're not running add campaigns trying to convince people they're american and they have US plants. From the way they've been marketing themselves it seems the only reason they're doing it is to convince people that they're american and that customers aren't shipping $ outside the US when it is exactally what happens when you buy a product from a foreign company.
This guy seems to be the only automotive writer with his head on straight.
I'm glad to see someone finally has the balls to call toyota on their bullshit, "we're american" propaganda machine.
I HATE IT when companies try to take advantage of charital organizations to push their products. "Buy a ps3 and help cure cancer. If you don't and buy a 360 or wii instead you're saying you want people to die!"
Tull are you a moron!? All this does is record key points of data right before and after a crash. Other than that it's off. It dosen't record where you go or how many stop signs you go through etc. GO PUT ON YOUR TINFOIL HAT!
Did any of you tinfoil hat wearers read the CNN article? The device only starts recording right before and soon after the crash. Not whenever you're driving. This is going to lead to great leaps in automotive safety so I say F the ACLU (or as I like to call them, the American Communist and Leftist Union)
You tinfoil hat wearing whiners are idiots. Like Joe said these things just collect data. Last I checked driving is done on PUBLIC roads so if you're driving twice the speed limit and a cop nails you with his radar gun is that an invasion of privacy? "DAMNIT! I WAS IN THE PRIVACY OF MY CAR!!? INVASION OF PRIVACY!!!"
These data collectors are a good thing. The data collected will be used to improve automotive safety and SAVE LIVES!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
