I think what's REALLY wrong in this world is demonstrated by how quickly and casually WE are incited to speak of killing a 7 year old child, based on something the media told us.

I don't find the child feeding one animal to another to be so "sick" as others have been shouting -- anyone who's raised large reptiles has done this. His bashing lizards on the head to kill them does bother me, but was he doing it out of some sense of "mercy"? WE DON'T KNOW. Get the kid into counseling, and do punish the parents for not keeping a proper eye on such a young one. But calling for a schoolchild's death? You should be ashamed of yourself.
Favorite is still the messenger scene.
TheCount... they're toys. Toys are generally useless. They're for amusement. I understand if you find them simplistic and boring, but kids love them. And unless your kids are technomonkeys, the 'bots do plenty.

I would be the 'who' that is buying these 'robots'. Fortunately, I have two children to use as cover.
Michiel, the electric jar opener is superb for someone who suffers from arthritis, rather than simply "weak hands."
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
