Yeah it's not my intent to bash Seagate. I picked mine up locally from the same store. I wonder if some shippers take the "Fragile" label too lightly and are tossing some boxes around.

I've had 2 consecutive Seagate drives do this to me before I switched to WD. Only, once it started, it didn't stop until I powered down and gave me a bsod. It also became worse over time. Just anecdotal evidence, but I think that's the sound of a dying drive.

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.

"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
