WHAT A JOKE!

Mel said

"“We are absolutely not a monopoly,” Karmazin said heatedly at one point. “We are absolutely convinced this merger will be in the best interest of consumers,” he maintained. “This merger will give consumers more choice at a lower price and more importantly, less confusion.”"

All i see is a service that i would once happily pay $20 a month for and now hardly ever use. I knew Sirius was a joke of a service and now i am forced to live with it. And they want me to pay more for it. GET OUT OF HERE!
I love the production value put into this.

And yes, i laughed at it.

Great stuff.
Places should do what we do at our restaurant. Just MAKE decaf.
We only make regular for ourselves. All the customers are offered either but only served decaf.
I'll stick with my Pioneer Inno. I dont like the car dock for this one.

Portable reception does suck if you dont live in a repeater area. When in NYC i can have my Inno buried in my suitcase and get full reception. Upstate, not so much.

Finally we can confirm XM > Sirius.

All the Stern fans............ (i cant understand why any of them are left) can get better signal, hardware and in my opinion better music programming on one device. But it doesnt stop there.

XM with Best of Sirius offers everything a sports fan would want. MLB (only sport that works on radio IMO), NFL, Nascar, NHL, NBA, College Sports, PGA on one service.

Too bad that "better music programming" will end when the Sirius exec's turn into FM like crap to cut costs.
Vegas please so i can start a new career.
"So if they do merge and create a monopoly and raise prices as some fear,"

I fear it. Its been said that all contracts need to be redone. With double the subscribers im sure the MLB, NFL, Howard, Oprah... Martha Stewart.........Sirius's Gay Channel........ Sirius's Blue Collar Radio........., and other POINTLESS content offered will want more money.

So a price increase sounds realistic. All i want is my XM music and Ron and Fez.
Its been a fun 3 years but i cant wait to save 12.99 a month when and if they merger.

I refuse to support Mel.

And it wont happen today. History shows the DoJ makes statements like this on Wednesdays.
Galaxy = Best game ever made

Thank you for bringing me (my girlfriend and my friends) back into gaming. Wii fucking rules.
"Censorship free!"

NOT REALLY!

"But in our case where the FCC's issue was that "you say the 'F-word' and you're gonna get fined," now we don't have that issue, and our talk-show hosts do say the "F-word" from time to time, but I want to make sure they're not saying it for the shock value." - Mel Karmazin

I hate Mel and Howard but love my XM radio. Blech to this merger.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
