Even in the product photo the wire looks awkward! They've had to attach it to the mousepad to try and keep it out the way. In normal use that's going to be an even bigger pain.
Personally I wouldn't care if the store jsut looked like a big list of games that are a available sorted in Alphabetical order with teh price beside them...but it better be a big long list!

Just now on the UK store the selection is crap and that, IMHO is far worse than any dodgy interface.
I've got mine plugged into a SDTV through the SCART cable that came with the system and I've had no issues.

Watched at least two dvd's that I can think of off the top of my head and they both played fine.
I really don't understand the point of this.

Surely HDMI = DVI + HDCP + sound
and DisplayPort = DVI + HDCP

So really they are annoucing a connection that does less than is alreay available just because it comes in a smaller package? Have I missed something?
@Micheal, English is my native language and as far as I can see you're spot on. Misleading headline of the week!
It really bugs me when people say MS are greedy/trying to take over the world! They are a business and the vast majority of businesses only exsist to make money.

Just because one does it better than all the rest does not make them evil.

MS have done more than any other company in the world to help get PCs into the home and make them useable for even the most hairbrained of users.

Its a joke that people come on here as well and question the money he gives to charity. Who cares why he does it. Does £1 of his money buy less things than £1 of any of our money even though we give it to be nice?! No!

Get over it...the guy is good at what he does and thats why he is the richest man in the world...not because he's evil/robbing from the poor or any other consiparicies.
This is sort of cool...but very impractical! 12" is too small to watch it on, but too big(and expensive) to use just as a 2nd display while you're watching something.

Also think of the noise! With the amount of fans needed you'll be in danger of sucking your TV into the intakes!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new laptop, and I want a 13-incher. I need something with a great keyboard for typing, as this will mostly be used for note taking in class. I am absolutely smitten with the XPS 13, but I'm afraid that with its age Dell is going to give it an update soon. Any advice for someone in my shoes?"
