Its funny that you stopped watching CSI miami because of a magical table that you don't think could possibly exist. Check out the Microsoft Surface. It does almost exactly what you described, at least in concept. I'm not sure if the production version can actually pull data from the devices simply because most devices don't support wireless transmission. In a demo of the technology they showed it working, although there could have been some wizard of oz stuff going on. The technology certainly exists for this to happen.

I don't think what happened with New Bern will happen to Jericho. Beck seems pretty reasonable and Jericho is a little bit more about diplomacy than New Bern. Plus the wheels in Becks head are already turning with his new information about Valente.
