Actually, sonic and ultrasonic testing is a tried and tested technique for detecting cracks and flaws in high stiffness materials. The location of the tap might affect the signal produced, but this system looks to remove the variance from that to record a unique "signature" which is then used to identify it.
Also, this system looks to standardise the placement of sensors to reduce the variance between tests.
Heh. I think Nokia have got over the US market, and are happy selling millions of phones in EMEA countries. Take a quick look at what phone OS is dominant in most parts of the world.
Seriously though, carrier subsidy totally distorts things. I'd rather buy the phone outright and have a cheap contract than have the phone cost hidden somewhere in there along with my free minutes, texts and pitiful data allowance.

I'm looking for a small, quiet and cheap PC to replace my aging tower in my home office, and all it really needs to do is load Microsoft Office, check email and surf the web.
