hmmm, what I find interesting is nobody has actually mentioned running flight sim. Probably the only game that would benefit from this kind of spec
The thing is once this comes out there will undoubtedly be something else like it 2 months after. Its the birth of the new POS PC line. A pc that does only what you want it to. A bit like a wii really. A wii is not powerful, it plays great games.

All a lot of people want is a PC with WIFI capable of viewing flash internet pages at full speed. Office would be nice also but open office would be enough.
Thats it, nothing more. Internet and office at the cheapest possible price.

My nephew is 3 and I would love to get him one of these, but there aint no way I am going to pay any serious money for a laptop as a gift.
They should have put VIA cpus in there instead though and made a completely fanless machine.
You may have over looked what I call, "Stupid American Police"

Yes, its funny that they left the camera behind and incriminated themselves.

Hey.... but wait, there is still a $1000 for identifying them. So basically if they have a loyal amount of friends or are just loners who lay low for a while they could still get away with it regardless of being stupid enough to leave pix behind.
US only competition?
Gutted! How about a second round for the nice folks in the UK?
OK, so it might get kicked.
But only if the thief knows what it is.

The other option, put it next to your laptop. If the laptop gets nicked the odds are they will nick the robot as well. Then just wait until its turned on again.
YOU ALL HAVE IT WRONG ITS AN EXCELLENT IDEA!

Publicize it as much as possible. Servers will not shut down, but individual people will. There on the day, use your PC. Imagine the download speeds. Say it was publicized hugely and 1% of home users turned off for a day. The internet would be hugely faster, just don't use any P2P programs.

Make it happen, free the tubes up for one day. In this day, download as much as physically possible.
Now what I really want to know is, can his head move up and down?

Would be perfect if you have a remote alarm system in your house. Check on things any day or night. A burglar can hide out the way of a remote camera or two. Imagine their surprise, they smash the two cameras that they knew about. Then from under a small curtain out pops this little guy getting a complete facial picture.

Thieves can always scope a place out before hand and avoid/destroy the security cameras but they would never expect a robot (or two) to come out and start taking pictures of them.

I can imagine a new version in a few years time.
Three times the size, 4 times stronger and with a self righting mechanism.
Hire them out for things like CES and CEbit. You could be there without actually going.
I agree 100% with NuttyBars. The funniest thing cisco could do is license the iphone name to them. They could call it the iPhone 2 or something better. I would 100% buy one of these.

Apple are good inovators, I wanted a mac mini when they came out to add linux to it.
I would buy a mac mini now and put windows straight onto it if I had the cash.
I would buy an ipod if it worked with Napster.

Inovation is good, but immitation is usually better. See something good, make it a bit better. I am all for people copying ideas, it drives people to make better products.
Imagine if motorola patented the mobile phone completely. Inovation today would be hugely limited. I don't like patents at all.

If somethings worth making its worth making well. (The first time)

If Apple made a product so good at a decent price then they wouldnt be scared of other companies. Because they would simply be better. They just want to make as much money as possible.

I'm off to ebay to check out some funky Hong Kong imports.
Surely I would be completely wrong having not read the law bit at all.

But in my view, doesnt cisco have far more right over the name. Whether abandoned or not on the basis that the company who had the trademark released a product before apple even got its product throught the FCC.

Thats whats most important in my opinion. Cisco has a product out and Apple does not. Surely that has to count for something???????
I love the idea of this. Clear your desktop and have lots of little extras around your real desk.

Random idea I thought of, 10x768 screen to house the vista desktop sidebar.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I love my little computing companion but I often find myself missing a full sized keyboard. I have been looking at several of these portable and flexible keyboards, but I can't seem to make up my mind about which I should buy. I don't want the keyboard to be overly expensive, but I want it to be good quality. Also, how difficult is it to type on these keyboards? Thanks!"
