@lucas

Wow, someone actually gets it. I am a small business retailer and customers just can't seem to grasp the concept that unless the manufacturers drop their wholesale prices it is impossible to pass along the savings to the customer. Whether you are dealing with a big box like Best Buy or a small independent retailer, we are all buying from vendors and distributors who are buying from the likes of Sony, MS, Toshiba, etc, etc. who refuse to drop their prices.

On top of that, I think the general consumer is completely warped in their calculation of profit margins for retailers. Just because you see a 25-50% reduction, does not mean they were making that margin plus this theoretical 10%. It is a loss and a necessary one at that in order not to have aging inventory. Inventory 45+ days and your dead.
Thanks for this. I will probably only keep the jawbone and likely donate the rest to my needy neighborhood school and kids community.
Contacts lag seems to be gone. Thankfully.
The fix for contacts lag alone make this update worth it.
Back up for me. Still .Mac.
Without getting too off topic, the responses to this post speak volumes as to the general mentality of the populous today.

People think they deserve everything and expect it for next to nothing. In the same breath they demand that their worth be deemed a high value without reason. You can't have it both ways. If everything is free for the taking, then their is no value so don't expect it in return.

Good work ethic is a thing of the past. Sad.
So, by saying you would rather "support" freeware, I'm guessing you are an actual and active contributor to open source development?

If you want to be simply a user, ie. customer, you have to pay. I always love how users bitch and moan over the vast majority of freeware simply because it is, as you say, "rough".
Exactly. ZiPhone notes that is found "Gold3" which is the 8877. The 8877 is actually capable of a dual mode GSM/CDMA radio. Taken from the specs pdf:
"Configurable with a UMTS co-processor, S-GOLD3 extends into the growing 3G market, offering easy migration from a GSM/GPRS/EGPRS phone to a dual-mode wideband CDMA/GSM terminal."

So...wait, wait! Can I get the iPhone with Verizon!!! ;)
My toyota has 4 wheels, an engine, transmission, a steering column and a whole bunch of other crap. Mr. Benz must be turning in his grave.
I don't understand how Ryan was able to get his HD movie watchable "within a minute."

I rented a HD movie at 8:00 and and was hoping I would be able to watch it tonight Unfortunately after around 25 minutes it was still not ready after reaching 11% downloaded. Booo!

Either this is server overload on a heavy night of the release, or they need to adjust the buffer.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"All of these new nettops have me intrigued. I'm looking for a small, quiet and cheap PC to replace my aging tower in my home office, and all it really needs to do is load Microsoft Office, check email and surf the web. Is there a particular nettop that's better (or a better value) than another? I know it's a rather new segment, but hopefully someone has taken a chance on one already. Thanks!"
