I think the PS3 is a pretty good deal for $299, but I answered "No" in the poll. Reasons? I already own a decent PC and a 360 which are "good enough" for my gaming needs. There's some great games on the PS3 I'd like to try, but I frankly don't have time to play all the PC/360 games I want to as it is. The other reason is that to get the most out of the PS3 you really need a HD tv, which I don't own, and so that $299 quickly increases by another $1k or so (for a decent size/model HD tv) to get good use out of it. In the current economy it's hard to justify that.
@Undrhil

The chart here (bottom of page) indicates you can upgrade from anything to anything else (well, XP or Vista to Win7) but if you aren't upgrading from same to same (ex, Ultimate to Ultimate or Home to Home) you'll need to do a clean install:

I was kinda interested in this, but nah. Why not release a port of the original DOOM, like they did for Wolf3D?
Clay Fighter on Wii VC! ... probably one of those games that's much better in my memory than it would be to actually play it again.
Avast! From the high seas of Canada, I say to ye scurvy dogs:

Arrrrrrrrr.

And if ye be a lady ... PREPARE TO BE BOARDED.
Given how worthless and generally annoying to play the Beastie Boys songs are to play in RB1&2, I can't imagine Snoop Dogg's being any better, but we'll see. Not saying anything bad about either artist, but there surely are songs that are much better suited to Rock Band (and would be more fun to play) ...
Seems like a perfectly cromulent screenshot.
As a Christian I must say that he certainly is not representative of how most Christians think. A moron is still a moron regardless of his religion (or lack thereof) and Thompson is still a moron regardless of his license to practice law or disbarment.
VGAs suck but Weezer performing "The Greatest Man..." live is awesome, I assumed they'd do "Pork & Beans" which woulda been great too, but, yeah, that NEARLY made up for the rest of the crap.
Or perhaps gamers routinely lie about the amount of exercise and dates that they get. Hmmm ...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
