This is awesome, I actually just barely downloaded it and now I plan on installing it soon to see how it is, hopefully it treats me well and treats my wind well.
As cool as it is to have something small and sleek like a netbook, it would be just as cool to have something you can toss around and run over without anything going wrong.
This is gonna be awesome and I don't want to be a downer but it won't be as awesome as it sounded about a year ago. It would have been HUGE if it had come out when I first heard of it. It may be a little bit late now and it will only be slightly ahead of the current generation of current commercial handhelds, not to mention far more expensive. It will be the best out there for a while, I think, but it will be way too expensive and by the time it starts to come down in price a new PSP, iPhone, or DS will be out that will blow us out of this world with every aspect of it being better than this thing. Don't get me wrong I think this is awesome that Craig is making this thing and that this is going to come to fruition but it is going to be very very difficult to compete with the commercial handhelds. Fortunately that is not the main goal of this handheld, although many people think it is, so hopefully this will still have a good amount of success.
This thing is awesome. I can't even think of what laptops will be like in two years. Simply amazing. And I don't really think I would use the TV tuner that much but it would just be so nice to have at my disposal, not to mention its just cool.
100% of this post wants to be ranked down
I WANT that!
Wow, this is an amazing laptop. Seriously, this thing will definitely turn heads. I am amazed by this little thing and hopefully Dell's E Slim can give this a run for its money, or just be in its ballpark. This amazes my. Did I mention I was amazed?
Any word on battery life? That's really the only thing that's holding me back. The iPod firmware does all I need it to do so there's no point in messing with it if it's just for fun and if I'm going to get worse battery life.
A story like this is music to my ears. Seriously, how could you go wrong with bringing a whole new OS into the game/punching Microsoft in the face/doing anything with Linux? It is a triple threat. I would love to see something like this materialize.
This is awesome and almost makes me regret buying my MSI Wind when I did, although it doesn't at all since my Wind does all I need it to do. I'm just gonna say, by the time I buy a new computer, if it's a netbook, I predict it will have insane technology that I haven't even thought of and linux will be incredibly advanced but I hope it has a touchscreen, GPS, high capacity, low powered, high speed SSD, insane battery life, a high res webcam, bluetooth, wifi, tons of RAM, and an incredibly fast, low powered, low cost processor. And I will probably buy my next computer in about three years. Anyways, this price drop is a good sign and I can't wait to see what new netbooks come out.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"For a long time I have been searching for a portable device where I can store all of my CDs in MP3 format and stream the songs wirelessly to my HiFi system. The portable device must I've tried FM transmitters, they all suck. I don't want a docking station. Any help? Thanks!" have a display so that I easily can scroll through the playlists (I don't want to use a TV or monitor). I suppose that there must also be a second device that is connected to the HiFi system that would receive the wireless streams from the portable device.
