The true power of this technology is driving customers to sources of scarce items, such as a liquor store owner that still has papers on black Friday. For those that have a desired item to sell it could be a powerful ad tool... Milk seems to be a bad example unless it's hard to get somewhere? Certainly not here, but I'm in Wisconsin after all...

It looks like the photographer used a flash (I see reflections on the stand), and due to that I think the camera may have chose a fast shutter speed which would make even a 600 cd/m2 screen appear dark. I just bought two Sceptre x20's which offer up exactly the same specs minus the cam and mic, and they seem plenty bright to me.

Integrated webcams are nice but I hope they aimed it the right way -- my laptop (Clevo M57U) has one and with the LCD tilted for optimal picture, the webcam shows the top of my head.
I don't understand what all of the fuss is about. I have a Scientific Atlanta box from Time Warner; it has dual HD tuners, does nearly everything the Tivo can and a few things it probably can't, and has been perfectly stable. I am very happy with it.

I never did understand the big fuss over Tivo -- who in their right mind would pay a subscription fee AND a one-time hardware cost when they need only do one of the two with comparable systems?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
