It is amazing you left out the exclusives comming this xmas season for the 360 while talking up the ps3 exclusives not even out yet. What happended to Mass Effect, Bioshock, GTA and a little game caled halo 3? RIght now on the PS3 the only really good game worth owning is RSFOM. Motostorm is ok but is only a "must have" because outside of RSFOM there is nothing else out. Do you really think motorstorm is any better than PGR3 at the 360 launch. The truth is the ps3 has no killer app, no "Gears or halo" until MGS4. All those other games are good but I serious doubt they will approach numbers that halo or even GTA will do.

The problem is no that there tv's don't display 720pp its that the ps doesn't simply upscale the picture to 1080i as most hd boxes and xbox 360 does. Which is why people have no problem watching 720p ABC and fox on there tv which doesn't support 720p. I actually have one of these tv's as a cheep 2 hdtv all I had to do was tell my sa8200 to upscale 720p channels to 1080i which suprisingly the ps3 cannot do right now.

Anthony: Wow acording to you I didn't relize a wireless controller,wireless adapter or hd was "required" to play HD games. I'm just sitting here amazaded at how the sony and there fanboys continue to want to justify there over priced console. This just shows how desperate they really are. Just launch you "better and more powerful" console and shut up. Do they really feel that scared that they need to start with the missleading comparisons? If you as a gamer,parent or child can afford or convince the finance commity to spend 600 bucks in one shot then more power to you. This might be a shock you sony and the fan boy but that are plenty of people who could care less of blueray,hd-dvd,wireless adapters/controllers etc. They just want to play games and can't justify paying a premium for stuff they don't want or need. People have a much easier time justifying a slightly higher price on there time frame instead of a large sum up front on.

P.S. Sony left out a couple little tidbits. You won't get a remote nor will you get hd cables. Not to mention there core model is not upgradable to the premium as the xbox core can be.

I hear you. But i don't think anyone will be buying a xbox 360 or a ps3 as a movie player first and a game system second. If past history has show us anything is that these game systems aren't the best as dvd players. If your looking for a good HD-DVD or blueray player spending 600 bucks is kind of expensive for a what could turn out to be a dummed down hd-dvd or blueray player.

The difference is M.S I'm not beeing forced to pay for the HD-dvd drive. So lets see spend 600 bucks for a ps3 and get a drive I could care less about or spend 399 on a xbox 360 and save 200 bucks.

Bad judgement is bad judgement regardless. The fact that certain stories don't get reported the other way is because news sources like engadget are all about getting hits to there site or selling papers,getting those rating, etc. Reporting racism agaist minorities sell's those papers and gets more site hits, etc. more than the opposite. Instead of trying ot justify sonys' bad judgement, question news sources like engadget which report them but not when the opposite happens as well as try and slant this story.

No you can't just get a HDMI cable for the lower verision ps3 it doesn't have a HDMI port. Which probably means it can't encode out the HDMI or support HDCP. This is the same problem the Xbox 360 might face with there HD-DVD addon. No one knows if it can support HDCP. If all you had to do was get a HDMI cable then they wouldn't of made a point to say the lower verision doesn't support HDMI.

All you did was point out the folly of buidling the blueray into the ps3. There will be 10 mill ps3s connected to 1 mill HDTVs if your lucky. Most of the people who will buy the ps3 can't watch blueray movies because either they don't have a HDTV or there HDTV doesn't support HDMI/DVI-HDCP. So wouldn't it make more sense to make it optional as by the time HDTV's reach critical mass they will be off to the the ps4,etc?
Honestly I think this will blow up in sonys face unless somehow they find a way to seriously cut down the production costs of the ps3. But i guess we will find out some of that info this week.

What a surprise the sony fan boys are out on this one. Didn't realise a preorder date means something Any gamer knows preorder dates of games mean nothing esepically for a system thats doesn't even have a working prototype as of yet.
