Xbox 360 price cuts official... in Australia {Engadget}
Jul 2nd 2008 9:36AM Xbox 360 price dropped in countries where Xbox 360 doesn't sell so well!
Wow! What revelation! What conspiracy! Look how smart I is for figuring that one out! Then me use learnt intelligence to speak about PS3 world domination! Me in the know!
If I were to pretend like I know everything based off my small slice of the world here, then I could easily spout some bullshit about how everyone I know owns a 360 and how I don't know a single person who owns a PS3... so through ignorant logical conclusion, the PS3 must be doomed!
Dumb.
Why wait? Application allows Netflix to Xbox 360 streaming {Xbox 360 Fanboy}
Jun 26th 2008 1:20PM I do it all... I DVR w/ Media Center, stream it to Xbox 360, have a Netflix account, and steal tons of content every month.
Although, I am really picky about quality, so I don't steal too many movies. (Thus the Netflix... but yeah, I'm burning those as well so I'm still stealing).
But stealing is not that easy. If it was that easy, I wouldn't have 5 or 6 people a week asking me to find them the new Pussycat Dolls CD or some garbage (which deserves to be stolen mind you).
The Roku player is cool and I was thinking of getting one... but if MS does streaming Netflix w/ Media Center, then that's a much better option.
First off... there are other Media Center extenders out there beyond the 360. I plan on buying a stand alone Extender for the bedroom. Now if Netflix could stream to that, then forget about the Roku player. Why have 2 devices if one can do it?
And what are you going to wear out on the 360? There's only 4 moving parts in the whole dang console: The fans, the disc drive, the disc tray and the hard drive. The only thing you're really going to be using if you're running Media Center are the fans... which won't need to work that hard since the rest of the machine is basically idle. Even if you have a disc in, it's going to stop spinning to conserve... so 'wearing out' is such a non-issue.
RROD does not happen from extended use, it just happens. So please, no RROD references either.
Ford SVT Truck update: Harley F-150 coming in early '09 {Autoblog}
Jun 19th 2008 11:44AM This just in: Mustand to come in V6 and GT models.
What? What's so 'news' about this? Ford had Harley badged-truck before.
And is Ford seriously coming out with an SVT F-150 during a gas [price] crisis?
I smell layoffs!
"We only sold 2... so we're going to have to cut 15,000 jobs..."
Man gets caught with custom-built gas-stealing truck {Autoblog}
Jun 19th 2008 11:38AM The story above happened here in Orlando... the funny part is the guy tried to run, and another customer stopped him. The funny part (and you have love the crappy local news for doing this), is the man is explaining how he tripped the thief... and they actually cut (CUT, as in they filmed it seperately) to a shot of the man showing how he sweeped his foot... then back to him talking. LMFAO. I had flashbacks of Rex Kwon Do from Napoleon Dynamite.
Price cuts and 60GB Xbox 360 rumored for E3 {Engadget}
Jun 17th 2008 12:53PM When comparing storage space VS value, none of the HDs are worth it.
When asking about capacity... why the hell do you need 500GB for a console? The only people who need this are hackers who are stealing games... and if you can pirate games, then you're probably skilled enough to swap the HD anyway.
I own over 15 Live games... I stream video, music and pics... and I have 2 videos I never delete, and have only used 10GB.
Even if you fill up your HD, you can delete any purchases (map packs, pics, movies, Live games, etc) and download them again later, no need to re-purchase as Live keeps track of what you own. Granted, having to manage your system would be tiresome... but if you're not willing to buy a new HD and need the space... fuck it. DELETE. (And yes, I have deleted things and downloaded them again).
Point being... I have no need for anything bigger than the 20GB HD. Nearly 3 years with it and I'm just now hitting the halfway point. It's all mental. PS3 needs more capacity because some games have to install files to the PS3, but other than that... anything over 40GB is pure hype. Theres' no true need.
AT&T launches BlackBerry Bold promotional site {Engadget}
Jun 12th 2008 11:44AM Before I go into anything, let me start by saying I totally and completely understand that the iPhone and the BB Bold are 2 incredibly different devices, marketed to different types of consumers for various reasons.
The thing is... I am no iPhone fan. But they've peaked my interest with the 3G iPhone and $199/$299 price. I am currently on T-mobile and am becoming more and more jaded w/ them everyday. They FINALLY have 3G and they don't have single device worth wiping my butt with.
So now I'm considering jumping ship to the Death Star and getting an iPhone.
So my friend, who is a Crackberry crackhead, keeps pushing me to wait for the Bold on T-mobile. She claims a T-mo rep confirmed they were going to get the Bold around September (then again, another T-mo rep told her that all their phones since 2007 were '3G proof'... whatever the hell that dumbass lie is supposed mean, that statement alone makes me wanna leave them).
What say you all?
1. Jump ship, get an iPhone
2. Jump ship, get a Bold (honestly, I'm not too crazy about BBs, just my personal taste)
3. Stay w/ T-mobile, try to ignore the barrage of gay Sidekicks and wait for the Bold, which there is no true confirmation that they'll get this year if at all
4. FTW and wait for the sexy Sony Xperia... although that could very well be Q4
Los Angeles to sue Time Warner Cable over shoddy service {Engadget}
Jun 6th 2008 10:23AM A. Someone please use a dictionary and define frivolous. I love how every single lawsuit story must have a person calling it frivolous. Here's why it's not frivolous:
"failed to live up to its part of the franchise cable agreement REQUIRING that a company answer subscribers' calls within 30 seconds and begin repairs of service interruptions within 24 hours of notification in 90% of its calls for service."
For lack of better terms, this is a 'breech-of-contract"-type issue. Warner agreed to a standard they failed to uphold. Hence, they have to pay for their failure. It's not frivolous, it's business.
B. Fuck em. Cable providers been sticking it in consumers' asses for 20+ years. Whether frivolous or not, it's like a child molester getting run over by a car.... no ones has any sympathy. Good for LA.
Ben Heck and eDimensional's Access Controller for one-handed gamers {Engadget}
Jun 5th 2008 3:22PM But I've gotten pretty good at fraggin and triple wall jumping with my hook hand.
Well, this is engadget, so i would say that the most popular answer to the question, "why not for Xbox" would be... FUCK YOU SONY-TENDO FANBOYS!
That's not MY answer per se, I'm just sayin'...
The HTC Touch Pro {Engadget}
Jun 4th 2008 9:19AM 1. Winmo: I've owned 2 WinMo phones (MDA, Shadow) and I only had to do hard/soft resets on the MDA, and that was after I installed some 3rd party software. My Shadow has only froze up once, never again after that. WinMo's interface is a little illogical, I'll give it that, but overall it's stable and not as bad as the people who probably never owned a WinMo phone make it out to be
2. Touch Pro: Once again, while the other carriers get sexy hotness like the Touch Pro, iPhone, Tilt, et al... T-mo users can look forward to yet another Sidekick incarnate, and the Shadow 2. Whoopity F'n doo. If T-mo doesn't get the X1 and/or Blackberry Bold by the end of the year, I'm jumping over to the dark side.
3. "too thick" = People who traded up their Razr for an iPhone. LMAO. Maybe I speak for myself, but there is something satisfying about the feel of a PDA's heft. Now, would I want to carry around an MDA brick in my pocket again? No... but I wouldn't mind if there was no thinner alternative
E-TEN busts out three new WinMo 6.1 smartphones {Engadget}
Jun 3rd 2008 2:21PM I just assume that iPhone people are speaking tongue-in-cheek and making funnies for the rest of us. I mean, the comment, "iphones are jus the wave of the future right now" is even something the hardest of hardcore Apple fans can laugh at.
I thought all E-Tens were just re-badged HTCs... not only that, but they are import-only for the U.S.? I've never seen a U.S. carrier offer Eten.
What I'm getting at is I don't understand how anyone is criticizing this phone when,
a. Most are just re-badged phones (I would love to see a company re-badge an iPhone and see how many people knock it)
b. how you gonna talk about sales when it's not even offered in the same markets as the phones you're comparing it to?
