Unless you have a CRT-based HDTV, your tv is upscaling when it "stretches" or "zooms" the image. It may not do it very well as the quality of the stretch or zoom is dependant on the tv set. The PS3 and some DVD players will "upscale" the content with an algrithm specifically created for the content that it is outputing because it will often give better results than the tv-based based scaler.
Mario paintball anyone?
Ok seeing that picture of mario with a gun made me think of how cool a Mario paintball game would be on the Wii.
I know it is not exactly the same thing. But I just bought for $50 a windows machine to use as a myth tv front end with a 1ghz pIII, 256MB ram, 40GB hard drive.
You know, I actually like the looks of this (other than the minipc.jp text). I think it is the anti-mac mini stylings which I tend to enjoy.
"suitable for 2.18 megapixel video"

1080p(1920x1080) is only 2.1 megapixels by my count.

Does this thing really record >1080p? Am I missing something here?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
