SSD and faster drives will likely be a configurable option on sonystyle.com
Here's what I'd like to see...a consumer version of the XSERVE home server for managing a household's media library. Currently I have movies, music and photos spread across a Mac Pro, a Mac Mini, a Macbook and an Apple TV. It would be nice to have a single, synchronized repository that could be accessed via the network and has intelligent syncing capability to recognize and archive new content that has been added to any of the client computers.

That's my $.02

Hook me up!
I'm an Apple fanboy who bought a 160GB iPod classic. I've also been mildly disappointed with the responsiveness of the iPod classic, and yes, I'm plagued with intermittent synchronization issues. Furthermore, I'm frustrated at Apple's decision not to maintain compatibility with many older iPod accessories, even ones released by Apple (hellooo video dock, iPod camera connector!).

Having nearly every iPod since my original 5GB first-generation, I attribute most of these problems to feature bloat. What I loved about the original iPod was its simplicity and stability.

Apple needs to think long and hard about satisfying customers with well designed, elegant products that WORK, rather than trying to cram more bells and whistles into every successive generation of new product. That's what has always separated Apple from the herd, and I feel they are losing their way.
Seems like Sony has invented the jesus egg.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a wireless trackpad to use with my older (2.5 or so years old) C2D MacBook that's perpetually docked to my home theater. Something sleek, thin, not too small, made of high quality materials. Ideally, it would natively support all of (Snow) Leopard's multitouch inputs, and even more ideally, it would have a charging dock / base. The only problem is that I'm not sure that such a thing even exists. Think you can throw me a bone?"
