This is GREAT! But 10 years until we see it? WHY? They explain it to be so simple of a thing. SO WHY 10 YEARS? Heck, sounds like I could build this in my kitchen.
How about using this to make a material strong enough to create a "vacuum balloon" as a platform for a neutrally buoyant air vehicle, or yacht-in-th-sky, without the need for helium/hydrogen as a lifting gas.
Engadget is AWSOME! I want to fly the Virgin sky!
Just another classic example of how our corrupt covernmetns are turning this beautiful world into a freekin prison planet.... http://www.prisonplanet.com
Yea, my feelings exactly! Why is it still vaporware?!!!! We're in the 21 century for crying out loud. Oh yea, here's why it's vaporware... because nobody with any real money want to consider the fact that UFO technology and gravity generation/control is possible! Nikola Tesla was working on this way back and JP Morgan bought and destroyed/hid all his work, etc. Forget ducted fans, nacelles, etc. Let's build A REAL FRICKIN gravity propulsion personal flying machine for crying out LOUD!
Apple better come out with some type of headless home server/NAS/SAN at this Macworld Expo! I have no room to buy anymore iTunes TV Shows/Movies until they offer some type of home network storage server to store them on.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I commonly need to boot a system from an external disc and take a snapshot of the host system. I also then need to burn a copy of the image to a DVD. While I can do it with two separate external devices, and two power supplies, and two I/O cables, it'd be nice to find a small dual-drive enclosure. It would need to have USB, eSATA, and FireWire. Either slim-line or half-height bay for the optical burner would be fine, and space for either a 2.5- or 3.5-inch hard disc. Any ideas?"
