It's the same type of engine used in virtually all jet-powered aircraft, and while technically inaccurate, using the word 'jet' helps the majority of the readership understand what it is better.

So basically, no need to be an elitist anal ass about it.
It's a good thing Engadget doesn't have text to speech. Can you imagine how loud would the GIGANTIC ANNOYING nook review top banner would be shouting? Something 800 pixels in height really means it.
Someone has to say it: Batmobile
No problems here on the network I manage of about 80 systems, mostly XP and Vista, but with a few 7's trickled about. We push the updates to all systems over the weekend after patch Tuesday, so they should all have the latest.

I would guess there are probably just a few specific programs giving it trouble. I've got my money on some pointless bullshit auto-update program.
@SamUK

Likely, but I would say more likely is a WinMo app, because Asus' own PDA phones have been running WinMo for years.
Funny, mine can't.

It will suspend the data call and let you pick up where you left off if you get a voice call, however. And you can do it with WiFi, or a VOIP service.

In my years of WinMo phones, I have yet to run into a situation where this has come up, but I will admit I am a very light talker (~150 min a month, including anytime).
The only thing that is a bigger failure than this troll is the people that fell for it...Engadget has a software post on virtually every page....clearly he is trolling, and you should all be ashamed for feeding him.
Handandgo had one for WinMo, and I think Palm also, before the iPhone even existed. It just never saw widespread usage and wasn't designed well.
@Look

A little over a year ago, I was shocked to wake up and see the [EV] indicator on my phone. I live in a small town of 10k people, an hour away from the closest thing to a city. I've noticed more and more towers in my rural area getting 3G, and now I am hard pressed to go anywhere I don't have it...it's great.

My guess is they have been planning this a while...since the iPhone started kicking their ass a bit, maybe? Anyway, I'll take it. Over the last year, Verizon has sucked significantly less all around, not just in coverage. They are still pricey, but at least they justify it somewhat now.
Big fan of the Mamba here too...it has a few quirks (thank god for firmware updates), but I really love the feel of it. It was my first Razer mouse going from a long history of Logitechs, and I wasn't disappointed.

I did pick up the Naga as well for MMOs and some RPGs (handy in Dragon Age), and I was a little skeptical at first, but after a few days of use, I feel right at home...I'm lost in Aion without it. I have fairly large fingers and hands, and I still have no trouble hitting the thumb button I want. The 2nd and 4th row have a ridge, and the curved side separates the three buttons well. I was disappointed with the smaller feel in my hand, but realized that is so it tilts your hand to make the thumb buttons easier to press. The only thing I don't like is the damn cord. Ugh.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
