Palm Pre hacked and running on Verizon {Engadget}
Jul 10th 2009 12:15PM Or maybe you have no idea how basic cellular technology works, since Sprint and Verizon use CDMA and ATT and T-Moblie (and most of the rest of the world) use GSM, there're it's technically impossible to use the iPhone on Sprint or Verizon.
Video: Life-sized Gundam's back, looking deadlier than ever {Engadget}
Jul 9th 2009 6:01PM Eh, while 00 was one of the better Gundam series, it's not the U.C. stuff. RX-78 will be forever, although my personal favorite series is Zeta.
OCZ's Sabre OLED gaming keyboard now shipping, priced at $135 {Engadget}
Jul 9th 2009 5:04PM How about 5 minutes of battery life?
Well not quite, but I think you get the point. However you would think by now someone would have come up with something at least passible and not -too- rough on the batteries.
NVIDIA's 40nm GeForce G210 and GeForce GT 220 desktop GPUs emerge {Engadget}
Jul 9th 2009 9:36AM Judging by their clock speed they're probably a G92 base like the GTS 250, and was first seen in the 8800GT IIRC. All the other 200 series carts are G200-based, however.
Sony's Stringer dismisses PS3 price-cutting threats by noisy Activision CEO {Engadget}
Jul 8th 2009 9:35AM @House
If you're not a fanboy, then you're an idiot. I will not deny that the PS3 is potentially more powerful than the 360, however games have to be developed specifically to take advantage of that, and not very many are...they are generally just ported so that they are functional.
And really if all you can do is attack a fixed bug, accessory prices, lack of a web browser, and unsubstantiated rumor, then it's pretty clear the PS3 is not worth the cost. Especially to the average consumer-they drive the market, not people like us who know the finer details. They look at the cost of the system, and the games available for it, they don't give a damn how powerful the Cell processor can be. If someone wants to play Guitar Hero, the cheapest way to do it is to buy a 360. If they want to play Halo, they have to buy a 360. What does the PS3 have? MGS4 and Killzone 2, which are laughable at best. Stop 100 people on the street, and ask them if they've heard of MGS, Killzone, or Halo. You know what the responses will be.
Fanboy disclaimer: I don't own a PS3 nor 360, I use my PC for playing real games that kick the crap out of both systems. I do own a Wii but only use it for when I have friends over, otherwise it just sits there looking sad.
Factron iPhone case packs interchangeable camera lenses, built-in excess {Engadget}
Jul 6th 2009 6:39PM @Zak
Not useless, but for $200 you can get a camera that will beat the crap out of it, and probably be smaller than all those lenses put together.
iPhone facing potential trademark issues in China? {Engadget}
Jul 2nd 2009 3:42PM Since it would be a U.S.-based company infringing on a Chinese trademark and not the other way around :-)
Psystar bounces back from Chapter 11, intros new high-end hardware {Engadget}
Jul 2nd 2009 11:36AM Oh, a Paul comment. So enlightening as always. I have some spare cookies so I'll feed the troll. Although I'm rather disappointed, this time it's little more than taking an expression way too literally. There was also a hint of highly flawed logical reasoning in there, too: "...company that provides them with the operating system that they didn't code?" That kind of sounds like EVERY OTHER COMPUTER MANUFACTURER ON THE PLANET, seeing as how they all generally use Microsoft's OS, or Linux, which most of it they probably didn't code themselves.
Please, improve your trolling skills so this is more entertaining next time.

Ask Engadget: Best gaming laptop for under $1,500? {Engadget}
Jun 26th 2009 9:26AM As much as I want to flame you for being a cluless fanboy, I'm just going to point out simple logic:
-He wants a gaming laptop under $1500
-95%+ of all games are GPU-Dependent
-Find the best GPU on a laptop for under $1500
You can find 9800's in that price range. A 9600 won't cut it.
My vote is either for the Gateway or an Asus G-series. I have a slightly older Asus model (F3Sv), and my boss has a G50 series, and they have dramatically improved the build quality and overall feel of the laptop. And I'm still quite happy with mine as it is.
