I have to say as OLD as the Palm OS is and as much fun people poke at it, until the iPhone came out it was (IMHO) better than anything else even years newer. It is to ALL of our benefits for there to be more strong players in the market (competition is a winning ticket for the customer).

So Palm, even though I know you to be EXCELLENT at F'ING UP from time to time, I am rooting for ya 200%.

Yeah Foleo was WAY too expensive. After it was cancelled I went out and got the closest thing I could to it a Sony TZ with about the same size keyboard and screen that would run Office, Email and Web and it was only $2000.

Wait an F'ING second! the Foleo was a freakin great price based on its ability!

Adam
$500 Foleo with a 10" screen does not look so expensive now...
Fuk'n Funny picture.

Thanks for the laugh!

You really think a new Palm OS wil ever arrive?

Can you say:

COBALT!

HA HA ha hahahahahahahahahaha

I give in,

Adam
The EEE PC is not really a substitute for the Foleo. Battery life and simplicity and instant on are all lost. It will be years before a Foleo like device becomes reality now. Also Palm F'd up here as they must seriously have pissed off their developer partners who spent time writing software for this. Should have realeased it and let it flounder, would have been better than to do this.
GREAT!

OK WHERE AM I NOW GOING TO FIND SUCH A SMALL SOLID STATE LAPTOP WITH GREAT BATTERY LIFE TO RUN LINUX FOR $500??
OR FOR UNDER $1000!!!!!!

Looking at just the hardware this is a big shame.

SOMEONE FIND THE MANUFACTURER AND GRAB PRODUCTION FOR A LINUX MACHINE!!!!

I agrea with it all but the point about the Foleo. I think there is room for this device, especially if they make it 'open' for Linux comunity to tweak to their hearts content. $500 for a superlight laptop running Ubuntu! WOW c'mon that would be the killer laptop and would make my Lenovo X61s seam too big to bother with on most days!
You say this is fake. I would have said so myself, but since the announcement of the Foleo I could believe ANYTHING!
Yeah, I know of two ways to do this on a PC (PDANet and the other one) but not sure if this is going to work, at least not initialy for a Palm/Palm set up.

Here is hopeing PDANet gets a program working for this ASAP.

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"For a long time I have been searching for a portable device where I can store all of my CDs in MP3 format and stream the songs wirelessly to my HiFi system. The portable device must I've tried FM transmitters, they all suck. I don't want a docking station. Any help? Thanks!" have a display so that I easily can scroll through the playlists (I don't want to use a TV or monitor). I suppose that there must also be a second device that is connected to the HiFi system that would receive the wireless streams from the portable device.
