Psst....Check the date on your calendar.
I couldn't agree more. I don't understand why they dumped Lombard's character. She was in charge and gave their office structure. Maybe it was a financial decision, who knows?

I always liked NCIS. They have the perfect cast now. Cote is a better fit with the team. I never bought Lauren Holly as the boss and find Rocky Carroll as the perfect fit for that role.
The mini series still holds up, but the series that followed was just awful. I remember reading at the time that they didn't even have writers with science fiction experience on the series and it shows. I was fortunate that I was a kid when this came out, so I enjoyed the action, but I find it unwatchable now.

I too was looking forward to the second generation as I understood that it was going to erase the series and possibly the second mini series.
Actually your entire post is ignorant. The moon has an effect on our tides because of it's size and relative position to the Earth. The sun aligning with the Milky Way is in no way going to cause a gravity shift when those stars are light years away.

Show me any reputable scientific group that believes any of this nonsense.

For people to stress out, or even alter their way of living, because a civilization ended their calendar on a certain date, is just sad.
" For that matter, would signing up for such a service also automatically hand over control of the vehicle over to any random law enforcement official that contacts OnStar, even when you're the one driving?"

A law enforcement officer would first have to find out if the person they were pursuing even had Onstar. Even if he did, he would then need to know the name and account number or password of the person as well. I don't have Onstar myself, but I would imagine it would be like many other subscription services which only need to know account information and serial numbers for the device. I really doubt that Onstar knows the license plate and registration number of the driver to match it up with a specific Onstar device, if a cop calls it in to them.
What for? They thief would have just smashed the window out and the owner would have had to deal with the repairs.
"now thieves are gonna have to adapt their car jacking skills and learn to disable onstar (aka rip it out, or whatever)
all part of the evolution of crime"

They would probably do that if they were stealing a parked car and had a few minutes on hand. Carjackers have to work fast and probably wouldn't have time to stop and rip it out.
I mentioned it above, but I think Peter needs to consciously turn off his power when he doesn't want to absorb a power, which is why he didn't get his mothers or Claire's ability. He originally got Emma's after saving her and didn't know she had powers.
I believe that if Peter knows the person he is touching has a power, he can willfully block absorbing it, otherwise it is on by default, which would explain why he got the deaf girls powers after saving her last week.
"Oh goodie, more selfish Americans... One of the reasons I detest living in this country."

Then leave the country and go join the peace corps and help out some poor countries. Starving kids can't fish from your crying river.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
